Today is a special day for those with my job:

Programmer's Day

13 September is the 256'th day of the year on non-leap years.

256 is a somewhat significant number in programming:

Code:  [ Select all ]

A byte is (usually) the most basic computer character for storing data
One byte contains 8 bits
A bit is an on/off switch, which can contain either 0 or 1, ie 2 values
2 to the power of 8 is 256
So a single byte can store 256 different values
