The Achaza piece got my creative juices in gear, so I managed to churn this out with some leftover beads.

Thanks. Since the Toho beads were so tiny compared to the 6mm ones, it almost gives the impression that the Tohos are just gaps in a really thick chain between the beads. Despite their size, I love working with these, so I might be getting some silver and other colors to try stuff with.

I'm glad that you like it. And yeah, Mio/Homura is a bit big. XD It doesn't even stay on my hand.

The Tri Round Set is the only one that uses actual thread. Mio/Homura uses .8mm clear stretch cord while the Red/Gold set was strung on gold colored beading wire.

And so, I'm bitten by the Bento Bug (I blame Mii for her gorgeous and ravenous hunger inducing bentos!) and have begun dabbling in bento making myself since I have several free hours in my morning now.

Bento Attempt #1: 07/07/2011
Mini hamburgers and meatballs
Broccoli and raspberries

The meat is a custom blend of 98/2 lean hamburger with thyme, terragon, ground ginger, sea salt, and black pepper. Buns are cut from rosemary bread and toasted.
The broccoli was also blanched in salt water for 1 minute and cooled, while the raspberries were rinsed and added as is.

Thoughts for the future:
-need to make a sauce to put on the burgers
-ease off on the thyme a little next time
-raspberries were a little too tart, so need to pack some honey to go with it

Awh. Sorry about your berry crops... I ADORE blackberries, myself, but I prefer to pick them when I'm home and eat them after grabbing them from the field.

Tomorrow's menu will include larger meatballs with worcestershire, ginger, and black pepper mixed in. We'll see what else I can whip up quick in the morning.

Well, that said here's my friendly critique/advice
1. There's WAY too much empty space in the meat section. One of the "rules" for packing a bento is that it's -full-. In other words, the box shouldn't show. (this is something I'm still working on myself) Try adding a couple more dishes or items to even things out. Things like cherry/grape tomatoes are great filler items. I also find that using a lettuce leaf at the bottom helps fill things out.

2. Cupcake, or mini cupcake liners are great for holding items like berries or bits of side dishes.

3. Most "Oriental" sections of supermarkets sell nori (seaweed) this can be cut like paper and used for dekoben (decoration bento) Or you can use paper punches to make designs

And the best thing about bento is you can go crazy and eat a ton of different things!

XD Yeah, I'm familiar with some of the basic rules of bento, and I frown that I don't have anything to really work with. I'm also beginning to think that this box is actually too big for me. What little I put in it already is enough to fill me up. I'm just hungry about two hours later, though.

I'm thinking that I need to get a smaller bento box and also carry some smaller boxes for snacks.

Right now (and probably for the next three weeks), I'm having to watch what I buy in groceries due to potential bills that may occur soon, so I can't buy too terribly much at the moment.

What about having the meat to one side in the bottom and having a sauce cup next to it in the bottom? That way I can get my meat and have extra too.

Bento Attempt #2: 07/08/2011

This time we have the same 98/2 percent mix but this time with ground ginger, sea salt, black pepper, and a nice splashing of worcestershire sauce cooked up into meatballs and put on bamboo skewers. Also accompanied with a repeat of raspberries, blanched broccoli and celery. New this time is the introduction of some honey (local raised and raw) for those super tart raspberries, and a failed attempted at trying to remember how to make a vinegrette after only being awake for a few minutes. It was made by mixing just lemon juice and honey together. It was a nice flavor, but went HORRIBLY with the broccoli and celery.

Need to get more creative. orz

Arphir is an extremely serious individual, but is also kind and gentle. He also especially enjoys children and views all of the Iyaakafra as his children. His wrath, however, is just as powerful as his generosity, so beware of inciting it.

Likes: children, tea, and sandwiches made with orange marmalade and almond butter
Dislikes: sodas, spicy foods, and ice cream

Background:
Arphir was designed and developed to be a specialized maintenance droid for Xirza, and to harbor the means of developing a true personality via a new AI system. Because all Iyaakafra are based off of his design, he is considered to be the father of them. He also, in turn, views all of the Iyaakafra as his and Xirza’s children.

Since his creation, he spent his days protecting Xirza as she helped him to develop his personality, and, over time, came to love her. Originally, he was the only person to promote the Elysium project when others doubted the possibility of its proper execution and continued urging Xirza into completing the planning phases for it. When she modified her methods for executing Project Elysium, he was initially horrified, but continued to support her anyway. He now spends his days guarding the room containing the Elysium Sphere, happy to continue protecting his love’s dream.

Misc:
Because Arphir is the first Iyaakafra, he also the most powerful because of his Unlimited Adaptability Function (UAF) which allows him to analyze and adjust to situations and enemies in real time. This, in junction with a specialized secondary core used to process emotion, is also what allows him to harbor a true AI personality as opposed to a static personality like the maintenance droids of Ar Tonelico and Sol Marta. His ability to constantly absorb and assimilate new information puts him beyond even the AI capabilities of the Harvestasya Model from Sol Cluster.

This set was made for my niece for her birthday. (Which was today/yesterday - Wednesday!) She loves fire colors and I wanted to make her something that she could have for a while. Plus, she and her older sister adore what I make (for some off reason... I'll chalk it up to niece worship! ), so I made this for her.

- Siam Ruby Czech glass: 4mm and 6mm
- 14kt gold plated: 2.4mm rounds, eat hooks, jump rings, head pins, heart toggle
- Magnetic rose clasp
- 11/0 Toho seed beads (silver lined gold)
- .3mm gold colored beading wire
- Gold colored crimper beads
- Gold colored crimper covers

Sizes:
Necklace - Approx: 18cm/9 inches
Bracelet - Approx: 10cm/6 inches
Earrings - Approx: 1cm/1/2 inch? (it was hard to measure these)
