Also, looks like the forum already does have a recapcha prompt for new users (I thought we didn't have this - might be something Deci added). At least that cuts back on a lot of automated spam that we would be receiving otherwise.
One extra setting that could be changed in the ACP is to require new members to verify their email addresses before posting, but I doubt that would help much.
About the IP addresses, looks like most of them are coming from the same Indian ISP, airtelbroadband.in, in Mumbai.
Here are some recent spammer IPs and hostnames:
122.169.21.222 -> ABTS-MH-dynamic-222.21.169.122.airtelbroadband.in
122.169.25.040 -> ABTS-MH-dynamic-040.25.169.122.airtelbroadband.in
122.169.7.110 -> ABTS-mum-dynamic-110.7.169.122.airtelbroadband.in
Taking a quick look at the ACP banning section, I think I should be able to ban *.airtelbroadband.in, and give a reason like this: "No spammers allowed. If you're not a spammer, please contact wizzardx@gmail.com".
I assume that's fine? I very much doubt we have any members from that exact Indian ISP, and if we do, they'll know they can email me.
