Let's play (and translate) Ar Tonelico 3!

Postby Izzy » Saturday February 20, 2010 7:51 pm

Please feel free to close and / or delete this if it's not useful or if someone's already doing something similar. ^^ But my copy of the game came today and I decided I'd translate as I went along for practice. I'm at university and don't really have time for a fifty or sixty hour game. But my major is Japanese, and I do have time for a fifty or sixty hour translation project. ^^ It's a good excuse for some guilt-free gaming.

Three notes:
1. I'm not a professional translator, and I'm still learning Japanese. I make dumb errors. D: Also, I favour things that sound nice in English over things that are 100% true to Japanese. I don't like throwing in pop culture references left, right and center, but sometimes my lines won't be exactly what the Japanese says. If you want a perfect translation, wait until NISA pick up the game. Or...wait, that won't work either. Pray that Atlus get it? XD
2. I'm not familiar with Ar Tonelico lore in English. I only know the Japanese names of a bunch of stuff that's constant throughout the series. I also have to take a stab at the romanisation of many names and terms, and chances are I won't get all of them right. Please correct me if you see something that's not consistent with the English. ^^
3. I'm only really putting this here for interest's sake. I play games very slowly even when I'm not translating every line, so I'm not sure it'll be much use. Also, since it's a game with a branching narrative and lots of hidden scenes, I'll probably only translate what I see. D: Still, I hope it comes in useful for someone~!

?????:
Hey Aoto! Damn kid...

?????:
What the hell makes you think
you can cut work halfway through the day?

Aoto:
Agh!

Aoto:
You're going to regret messing with...
Huh? Boss!?

Boss:
Watch your mouth, kid. You think I'll take lip
like that from someone who's been snoring his ass off
here since noon?

Boss:
Maybe it's just my imagination, but I seem
to remember telling you this morning that you had repairs
to do on the shrine.

Aoto:
Repairs? I finished 'em ages ago.

Boss:
Huh?
That was pretty quick.

Aoto:
Heh...I've been doing construction work here for
five years, y'know? Stuff like that's a piece of cake
for me now.

Boss:
Hmph...aren't we a busy bee.
Since you seem to like work so much, how
about I give you something else to get busy with?

Aoto:
Huh?

Boss:
There's a place in Kamibasami where there
was a landslide a while back. I'll leave the
repairs to you.

Aoto:
Tch...so it's overtime, huh?

Boss:
You're pretty handy when it comes to high
places, right? It's right next door to your house, too.
Go get cracking. I'm counting on you.

Aoto:
Man, what a pain...
Aaa...so tired...

Aoto:
I'll get a little more shuteye
before heading out.

(BLACK SCREEN)

?????:
Guh...so this is it...?

?????:
Don't die, Kiraha!

?????:
Run!

?????:
Give it up already! You're done for!

(BACK TO AOTO. WAKE UP AOTO YOU HAVE WORK TO DO. ALSO THERE'S A BODYBUILDER IN A SKIRT OUTSIDE)

Aoto:
Huh!?
What's making all that noise!?

Aoto:
Better go check it out.

(Battle with Mute):
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
W...what the!?
The Clusternia army?

Aoto:
Someone's hurt!
Something's weird here. I'd better lend a hand.

Aoto:
Hold it!

?????:
Huh? Who the hell are you?

Aoto:
That's my line.
What brings a high and mighty officer of the Clusternia army down from her tower to mingle with us lowly citizens of the Great Claw?

?????:
None of your business.
A weedy little punk like you shouldn't
go butting into other people's affairs.

Aoto:
Wh...!? Like you're not just a pile of muscles with a head attached.
Being a man's about more than muscles, y'know.

?????:
'Man'!? 'MAN'!?
Are you blind or something!?

Aoto:
...huh?

?????:
What part of the pure, sweet figure
before you is manly!?

Aoto:
All of it!

?????:
How could anyone look at me
and see anything other than a pure, innocent maiden!?

Aoto:
That's quite a punchline coming from a shemale!

?????:
Who are you?

Aoto:
Heh...just a humble citizen trying to do a good deed.

Aoto:
I don't know your situation, but I'm not gonna let
the Clusternia army have their way here in the Great Claw.
So how's about I lend a hand?

?????:
I would be grateful for your assistance.
Can I also ask a favour of you?

Aoto:
Eh...?

?????:
I'm nearing my limits.
I'll take care of the enemies while I can
still move, but after that I'd like to entrust her safety to you.

Aoto:
'Her'...? Who do you mean?

?????:
You'll find out soon enough.
Can I trust you?

Aoto:
Y...yeah.
I don't really get it, but leave it to me.

?????:
What're you mumbling about!?
Bring it on already, you little runt!

(Mute attacks, and I laugh. CUTYPUMP is the most hilarious thing ever, and suits the character so perfectly. XD Also, her running animation is so gangly and silly)

?????:
H...how is he so strong?
Is he more than just some brat?

Aoto:
Hah...hah...
How 'bout that? Guess reyvateils
aren't so scary without magic, huh?

?????:
Grr...don't get cocky!
C'mere and I'll blow your head off with my magic!

Clusternia Soldier:
You mustn't do that, Lady Mute.
If you do any more damage, things will
spiral out of control.

Mute:
Shut up!
You think you can give me orders!?

Clusternia Soldier:
This is bad. We can't let her lose it
any more. Let's withdraw for now!

Clusternia Soldier:
O...okay!

Mute:
H...hey! Lemme go!
Let go of my ARRRRRRRRRMS!

Aoto:
W...what the heck was with her?

?????:
I leave the rest...to you...

Aoto:
Eh?

Aoto:
H...huh!?
What's going on!?

?????:
U...ugh...

Aoto:
Hey! Are you still alive!?
Who are you!?

?????:
My name is...Kiraha...

Aoto:
Hey, hang in there!
I'll go and fetch a doctor!

Kiraha:
I'm finished...
Don't worry about me...
Just take care of...her... Take care of Saki...

Aoto:
Saki...?
You mean the girl lying there?

Kiraha:
Yes... Saki is being...pursued...
By the Clusternia forces...

Aoto:
The army!? Why?

Kiraha:
That's right...take this...

Aoto:
(This pendant... It's exactly the same
as the one I keep as a memento of Dad.
But why...?)

Kiraha:
Please...give this...to...my...son...

Aoto:
Your son...?
Who is he!?

Kiraha:
…..

Aoto:
Hey! No! Hang on!

Aoto:
He's gone...
What should I do...?

Saki:
A...ah...

Aoto:
Hey, are you okay?
What on earth happened to...

Saki:
Hn...

Saki:
Ah!
Who are you!? I...where...

Aoto:
Don't you remember anything?

Saki:
Kiraha...?
Kiraha! No! Don't die... Don't...

Aoto:
How did you know him?

Saki:
He... He's always protected me...
I owe him everything...

Aoto:
….

Saki:
(crying)

???:
Saki!

Saki:
Gramps!

Man:
You have to get out of here. The Clusternia
army are searching the village for you.

Man:
A...aaaaah!
Someone's lying there!

Man:
That's...Kiraha!?
What happened!? Is he dead!?

Aoto:
The Clusternia army got him.

Man:
Damn it, those bastards...!
They screw everything up!

Aoto:
I'll leave him to you two.

Man:
Huh?

Aoto:
Let's go.
We have to get out of the village.

Saki:
Eh...? B...but...

Aoto:
Come on!
My name's Aoto. I was asked to look after you.

Saki:
…?
Aoto...

Man:
H...hurry!
You still have time to catch an airbus and get far away from here.

Man:
Hurry to the bus terminal!

(Hello Tatsumi!)
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Huh? That's weird...
There's usually an airbus due around this time.

?????:
Whatcha doing, Aoto?

Aoto:
Tatsumi!

Tatsumi:
Who's she? Your girlfriend?

Aoto:
Girlf-...! Quit joking around.
I just met her.

Aoto:
She's called Saki, and...
Well...it's complicated.

Saki:
…..

Tatsumi:
Hmm...you look pretty down. Are you okay?

Saki:
…..

Aoto:
I'll introduce you, Saki. This is Tatsumi.

Saki:
...Tatsumi?

Tatsumi:
Good to meetcha.

Aoto:
We met a while back.
He came here a month ago to
hone his skills with a V-Board.

Saki:
I see... Hello...

Tatsumi:
Are you waiting on an airbus?

Aoto:
Yeah. Doesn't seem to be coming, though.

Tatsumi:
I've been hanging around here a while now,
and I haven't seen a single one.

Aoto:
Not even one?
That's weird... Maybe there was an accident or something?

Tatsumi:
I guess. Don't really know the details.

Aoto:
Damn it... If we don't get out of here soon, they're
going to catch up to us.

Tatsumi:
'Catch up'? You're on the run?

Aoto:
Well...yeah...there was sort of an...
unfortunate incident...

Tatsumi:
Unfortunate incident?

Clusternia Soldier:
Found them!

Clusternia Soldier:
That's her!

Aoto:
Tch...
Looks like they found us.

Clusternia Soldier:
We'll take custody of that girl now, boy.

Aoto:
'fraid that's not going to happen.

Clusternia Soldier:
What?

Aoto:
I'm saying that I won't hand her over to creeps
like you.

Saki:
A...Aoto...

Clusternia Soldier:
If you insist on opposing us...then we'll just have to
take her by force!

Tatsumi:
!!!

Aoto:
Tch...like moths to a flame...!

Tatsumi:
Need a hand?

Aoto:
…?

Tatsumi:
I don't really know the details,
but bringing a whole mob to take on
two people seems pretty unfair.

Tatsumi:
I guess I owe you for telling me a bunch of
good V-Board spots, too.

Aoto:
Right, I'm counting on you, Tatsumi.

Tatsumi:
Here we go.

(BATTLE)

Clusternia Soldier:
Not bad, boy. I suppose we should've
expected as much after you drove off
Lady Mute. But I wonder how long you can keep
this up?

Aoto:
Heh, you keep lining 'em up and I'll keep knocking
'em down.

Clusternia Soldier:
I wonder if you'd say the same knowing that we'll
hold the entire village accountable for your
violent behaviour?

Aoto:
Tch...you guys just can't sink any lower...

Clusternia Soldier:
If you still mean to resist us, we won't hold back.

Aoto:
Huh? A robot...!?

Clusternia Soldier:
It's not too late, you know.
Hand over the girl, or we'll set
it loose on you.

Saki:
Aoto...

Aoto:
Listen you blockheads, there isn't
a guy in the world who'd run away from
a promise he made to a girl!

Tatsumi:
Hey Aoto, this is...

Saki:
U...umm... I'll help too! I know I look
weak, but I'm a reyvateil, so I'm sure I
can help!

Aoto:
What...?
You're a reyvateil...?

Tatsumi:
That's handy.
We're counting on you, Saki.

Saki:
I'll do my best!

(BATTLE. Yay reyvateils~)

Aoto:
Saki, you're...

Tatsumi:
Aoto, they're bringing in reinforcements!

Aoto:
Damn it, they just keep on coming...

Tatsumi:
We can't take on this many.
We're at a total disadvantage.

Saki:
Aoto...Tatsumi...

Aoto:
…?

Saki:
I'm sorry, both of you!

Aoto:
Saki...

Saki:
I can't cause you any more trouble.
Get out of here while I hold them off!

Aoto:
'Hold them off'...?
There's no way you can do that on your own!

Saki:
I can!

Aoto:
How!?

Saki:
I'll pray!

Aoto:
'Pray'...?

Saki:
Yes!

Aoto:
Saki, it's okay. I'll be able to take on these...

Saki:
Please...grant me power...

Saki:
Grant me your power!

Aoto:
H...huh!?

Saki:
Please...help us...

Saki and Tatsumi:
!!!

Clusternia Soldier:
W...what!?
She turned people into...cake!?
What the hell happened!?

Clusternia Soldier:
We have to withdraw!

Aoto:
What just happened!?

Aoto:
Hey, Saki! Saki!

Tatsumi:
We should get out of here. Hurry!

Aoto:
Y...yeah!

(Camping in the forest)
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Tatsumi:
We should be okay here for a while.
Let's take a rest.

Aoto:
Okay.

Aoto:
What the heck was that all about?
The soldiers turned into cake...
And Saki got u...u...undressed...

Saki:
Hnnnn....

Saki:
Hmmnnn....ah...Aoto?

Aoto:
A...ah, Saki!
You woke up?

Saki:
What on earth was I doing?

Aoto:
You don't remember?

Saki:
No...not really...

Saki:
Sorry.

Aoto:
You don't need to say sorry.
Oh yeah! I had something I wanted to ask.
Back when I met you you weren't...like...in disguise or anything, were you?

Saki:
...disguise?

Aoto:
Like...as a female knight.
Who fought with the Clusternia soldiers and stuff.

Saki:
I'm sorry...I don't really understand what you're trying to say.

Aoto:
A...ah, I see.
Yeah, now that I think about it, she really was completely
different to you.

Aoto:
So anyway, that 'Kiraha' person... Who was he?

Saki:
'Kiraha'...?

Aoto:
Don't you remember him?

Saki:
I'm sorry...I don't know...

Tatsumi:
I guess it's possible that she lost some of her
memories temporarily due to the shock.

Aoto:
Ah...right...

Saki:
I'm sorry...

Aoto:
So...what about... When you said something
about praying, and then became n...naked?

Saki:
E...e...ah!
Pervert!

Aoto:
Aggggggh!

Saki:
I...I'm sorry!
It's just that you were saying such
embarrassing things...

Aoto:
So you remember THAT just fine, huh!?

Tatsumi:
...overwhelmingly puu.

Tatsumi:
Isn't there anything else you remember, Saki?

Saki:
Anything else...?
I was taking care of children.

Aoto:
Children...?

Tatsumi:
That was your job? Where did you work?

Saki:
Ougai.

Aoto:
Ougai...?
Where's that? If it's close, I'll take you home.

Saki:
I'm sorry...I don't really know where it is...

Aoto:
I see... That's a bit of a pain...
Tatsumi, know anything about Ougai?

Tatsumi:
Beats me. Never heard of it. But I know
someone who might know.

Tatsumi:
There's a pretty knowledgeable doctor who
lives in a city called Tokushie Canopy.
He might know about Ougai.

Tatsumi:
His speciality is reyvateils, too, so if we see
him he might be able to do something about her
lost memories.

Aoto:
Hey, that's a nice idea!
Didn't realise you knew so many people, Tatsumi.

Tatsumi:
Nah, it's not that...
A bunch of stuff happened, and I just met him by chance.

Tatsumi:
Is it okay with you, Saki?

Saki:
Yes! Thank you very much!

Tatsumi:
Oh, and there's one more thing I wanted to ask...

Saki:
Sure! What is it?

Tatsumi:
Are you some sort of special reyvateil?
I've never seen a reyvateil who can turn
people into cake...

Saki:
Eh...!? I don't really know...
But for as long as I can remember, whenever
I've prayed really hard God has helped me.

Aoto:
G...God?
Are you serious?

Saki:
It's true!
I used to be told that I had 'the power to
bring forth miracles'.

Aoto:
The power to bring forth...miracles...

Tatsumi:
Well, putting aside whether or not God
is giving a helping hand, you can't really deny
that we witnessed a miracle earlier.

Tatsumi:
Anyway, I think it's definitely best if we go and
ask the doctor in Tokushie Canopy some questions.

Aoto:
It's decided, then! Let's get going to Tokushie Canopy.
We have to get Saki home, after all!

Saki:
T...thank you so much!
I didn't introduce myself properly earlier, so...
I'm Saki! It's good to meet you!

Tatsumi:
It's pretty far to Tokushie Canopy. Let's camp here
for the night, and leave tomorrow.

Aoto:
Yeah, good idea.

(Mute gets chewed out)
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
?????:
So let me see if I have this right...
Despite causing something of a mess, you
have no results to present?

Mute:
F...forgive me! But there was a boy among
the villagers who was incredibly strong.
His abilities far exceeded those of a normal human.

?????:
Is that your excuse? Even ignoring the fact
that you took a large contingent of soldiers with you,
you think encountering resistance from one boy is a reason
to withdraw?

Mute:
No, you see... It's because...

?????:
You were entrusted with the duty to
retrieve Saki with utmost haste and return her to
the homeland, were you not?

?????:
I believe you were also told that any deaths would
lead to a great deal of inconvenience, so you were
to avoid killing people if at all possible.

Mute:
T...that was because...! I was...

?????:
Spare me the worthless excuses.
Failure will not be tolerated a second time,
so I pray that you succeed.

?????:
If you fail to secure Saki this time, you will
be removed from this assignment, and stripped
of rank.

Mute:
!!!

?????:
I have pressing affairs to attend to, and I won't
be able to leave Clusternia for some time.
Make sure you have retrieved her before I return.

Mute:
Yessir!

Mute:
Tch...that little runt! He's going to pay for this!

(Introduction to Saki's talk matter)
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Saki:
Aoto...can I come in?

Aoto:
Saki? What's wrong?

Saki:
Sorry to bother you so late at night...

Aoto:
What happened? Did something scare you?

Saki:
N...no... Nothing in particular. It's just...
I'm scared...of being alone...

Aoto:
Saki...

Aoto:
I guess you must feel pretty helpless being
on your own after everything that's just happened...

Saki:
Yes... I'm sorry...
I've been trying my hardest not to cause
you any trouble, but...

Aoto:
Saki...

Saki:
…..

Aoto:
Hmmm...

Aoto:
Hey, here's an idea. How about from now on,
you talk to me a little every night before going to bed?

Saki:
Eh...?

Aoto:
If you have a nice chat with someone before going to bed,
you'll probably be able to sleep more easily, right?

Saki:
But that'd be so much trouble for you...

Aoto:
Not at all!
Actually, umm...well... There's a bunch of stuff I
want to talk to you about anyway.

Saki:
Aoto...

Aoto:
We only just met, right?
And during the day we've got to stay on the move,
so we don't get a chance to talk.

Aoto:
So as long as it's okay with you, I thought maybe
we could have...umm...little get togethers at night?

Aoto:
...or not?

Saki:
No no, I think it's a really good idea!

Aoto:
Really? I'm glad.

Saki:
Yep! Thanks, Aoto! I'll start looking forward to
the evenings everyday now!

Aoto:
It's decided, then!

Saki:
Aoto and Saki's secret tea parties begin here!
(This scene is 'aww' all over, and both Saki and Aoto are so cute XD)

(Saki talk matter: どうなったんだろう)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Hey Saki, you changed people into cakes then, right?

Saki:
Eh? Cakes?

Aoto:
Oh yeah, you didn't remember that part...

Aoto:
Back when we were attacked by Clusternian soldiers,
we were saved by you praying.

Aoto:
You changed them into cakes, to boot.
Absolutely enormous ones!

Saki:
Really!? I wish I could've seen them too...

Aoto:
You like cakes?

Saki:
There's no such thing as a girl who doesn't.

Aoto:
I guess so, huh?

Saki:
I wish I could've tried those cakes...

Aoto:
Oh yeah!
There's something I wanted to ask
about that.

Aoto:
Those cakes were actually people that had
been turned into cakes, right?

Aoto:
Don't you sort of wonder what they tasted like?

Saki:
S...stop that!
Don't ask such scary questions!

Aoto:
Scary?
I figured it was a fair question.

Saki:
Ugh...I don't think I'm going to be able
to eat cakes for a long time...

(Saki talk matter: 体は平気)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Say, Saki, are you okay?

Saki:
Eh? Did something happen to me?

Aoto:
Well, it's just that I didn't protect you
properly while you were singing.

Aoto:
You're not hurt or anything, are you?

Saki:
Thank you for worrying about me.

Saki:
But I can withstand that much no problem!

Aoto:
Is that right...? Well sorry, anyway. I'll try
not to let it happen again. I hope you'll
forgive me.

Saki:
I'm not mad or anything, so you don't need to
apologise so much!

Saki:
But be sure to take care of yourself too, okay?

Saki:
I'd be much more upset if you got hurt, even if
it was because you tried to protect me.

Aoto:
It's nice to know you care, but those sorts of
attacks aren't going to put a scratch on me.

Saki:
Even so, I don't want to see you suffering.

Saki:
So you'd better worry about yourself a little too.

Aoto:
I guess you're right.
I'll keep that in mind.

Aoto:
(Looks like I ended up making her worry instead
of cheering her up. Guess I'd better do a better job next time)

(Scene before climbing a certain ladder)
Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto;
Woah...what was that!?

Aoto:
Persistant little...!

Tatsumi:
This is bad...
It looks like they're going to sweep the whole area.
It's lucky we got away from the village so quickly.

Aoto:
Yeah, guess you're right...
But it doesn't look like we'll be able to go back to
Cielo Valley village for a while now...

Tatsumi:
Wanna cry about it?

Aoto:
S...shut up! It's not that.
I was just thinking that the boss'll be worried about me.

Tatsumi:
Now that you mention it, it might be good to find somewhere
you can use a telemo and at least let him know you're okay.

Aoto:
Yeah.

(Reach the bridge above the save point)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Man, I'm beat!
We've been walking all day.

Saki:
A...are you okay Aoto?
Do you want me to carry you?

Aoto:
No, I'm fine!
Though that might be sort of...delicious...

Saki:
'Delicious'...?

Tatsumi:
That's enough silly chitchat.
Follow me. We can rest at this house.

Aoto:
Huh?
What is this place?

Saki:
Does a friend of yours live here?

Tatsumi:
Something like that. We can rest up and borrow
a telemo here. You said you were going to call your boss, right?

Aoto:
Oh! That's right.
You're so responsible, Tatsumi!

Saki:
So responsible!

Tatsumi:
'Responsible'...?
...let's just get going!

(SCENE MOVES TO INSIDE THE HOUSE)

Aoto:
Ah, boss?

Boss:
Aoto? Is that you, Aoto?

Aoto:
My bad. Looks like I won't be able to make
work for a...

Boss:
You think 'my bad' will cover it?
Skipping town and leaving all your work unfinished...!
Where are you, and what are you playing at!?

Aoto:
S...sorry!
But I can't tell you any specifics right now...
It'll probably be a while before I come back to the village.

Boss:
So something came up?

Aoto:
Boss, can you fill us in on what's going on there?
Are there still Clusternian soldiers poking their noses
around the place?

Boss:
Clusternia?
No, there's no soldiers around here.

Aoto:
I see. Thanks a bunch, boss!

Boss:
Hey Aoto! Is everything okay there?

Aoto:
Right now I'm just working hard so
I'll be able to come back safely.

Aoto:
See you!

Boss:
H...hey, wait a second!

Saki:
Was your boss mad?

Aoto:
He was totally pissed.

Saki:
Sorry...it's all my fault...

Aoto:
It doesn't matter!
Don't worry about it.

Tatsumi:
What did he say about the Clusternia army?

Aoto:
Apparently they've withdrawn already.

Tatsumi:
That was quick...
Things could get ugly if they head in the same
direction as us. Don't let your guard down.

Aoto:
Yeah.
We can't just hand over Saki to them.
Let's head for Tokoshie Canopy.

Saki::
I'm counting on you!

Tatsumi:
Anyway, tonight we should just...

?????:
...stay here.

Aoto:
Who are you?

?????:
Just a humble seeker of enlightenment.
It's been a while, Tatsumi.

Tatsumi:
Yeah, it really has.

Aoto:
A 'seeker'?

Seeker:
Indeed. Our religion has existed on
the Great Claw since long ago.

Seeker:
Living upon the bitter earth, people
grew to believe that true happiness was to be found
the search for enlightenment. That belief forms the foundation of our sect.

Tatsumi:
He's with the shrine that I used to be a part of,
but he left on a pilgrimage.

Tatsumi:
I was the apprentice to Gengai, another monk from
the same faction.

Aoto:
Huh, is that so...?

Saki:
Umm...are you sure we're not being any bother?
Barging in like this all of a sudden...

Seeker:
My my... It isn't often that my old eyes have been blessed
with the chance to behold such a beautiful young lady.

Saki:
E...eh!?

Seeker:
Ahahahaha!
Well, I can't offer you all the comforts of a nice hotel, but do make yourselves at home.

(NIGHTTIME)

Aoto:
ZZZZZzzzzz...

Saki:
Aoto sure is snoring loudly.

Tatsumi:
Looks like he must've turned in pretty late last night.

Saki:
He must be so tired. He ended up fighting to protect
me so many times...

Saki:
I wish I could be of some use in return...

Tatsumi:
I don't think you oughtta worry about that.

Tatsumi:
I doubt he's worrying about it himself.
He probably doesn't even see it as a bother.

Saki:
Tatsumi...

Tatsumi:
Jeez...sometimes I can't make up my mind whether
it's softheartedness or whether he gets a rush out of stuff like this...

Saki:
Heh...ehehe...

Tatsumi:
Huh? What's so funny?

Saki:
I'm sorry.
I was just thinking that you seem like really good friends.

Tatsumi:
Why'd you think that?

Saki:
Eh? Am I wrong?

Tatsumi:

...you're pretty weird, you know.

Saki:

(WINDOW BREAKS)

Saki:
A...ah!

?????:
…..

Aoto:
W...what was that!? What happened!?

Saki:
Aoto!

Tatsumi:
T...that's...Soma!

Aoto:
Soma? What the heck's a Soma?

Soma:
…..

Tatsumi:
...run.

Aoto:
Huh!?

Tatsumi:
Hurry up and run!
We don't stand a chance against this guy!

Aoto:
'Don't stand a chance'...?
Tatsumi...do you know this guy?

Tatsumi:
Who doesn't know him!?
He's Clusternia's most dangerous assassin!

Aoto:
Assassin!?
Why the hell did someone like that turn up here?

Tatsumi:
Don't ask me!
Anyway, we don't stand a chance in battle.
We need to try and create an opening to escape.

Saki:
Please...

Aoto:
Saki?

Tatsumi:
…..

Saki:
Please...

Saki:
Please... I beg that you help us.

Soma:
…!

Aoto:
Eh?

Soma:
Ugh...

Aoto:
He ran away. W...we're saved...

Saki:
E...eh?
Why? I didn't even do anything...

Seeker:
What's going on!?
Wh...!?
What happened!?

Saki:
Are you okay?

Aoto:
An assassin from Clusternia came after us.

Seeker:
What...!?
Nothing happened in my room.

Seeker:
I just heard a terribly loud noise, and came to take a look.
What a terrible turn of events...

Saki:
I'm sorry... Your window got smashed to pieces.

Seeker:
Don't worry about something like that.
None of you are hurt, are you?

Aoto:
We're okay.

Tatsumi:
Somehow.

Seeker:
That's lucky. But it's not safe for you
to stay here now that they know where you are.
You should get going as quickly as possible.

Tatsumi:
I was thinking the same thing.

Aoto:
Yeah. Sorry about the mess. We've
caused you a whole bunch of trouble.

Seeker:
It's not a problem.
I was planning on leaving for a while anyway.
I have to continue my pilgrimage.

Aoto:
Right.

Seeker:
Leave the mess here to me.
Just focus on getting away as soon as you can.

Aoto:
Will do.
Thanks for everything.

Saki:
Thank you so much.

(Party flees to a cave)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Phew...looks like we all escaped safely.

Saki:
I'm glad everyone's okay!

Tatsumi:
...Soma freaked out and ran away as
soon as Saki started praying.

Tatsumi:
I wonder if he has some connection to
Saki's prayers?

Saki:
Whenever I pray, the stars fill me with
power. I wonder if he noticed that?

Aoto:
The stars...?

Aoto:
…!
Is this a guardian from Clusternia!?

Tatsumi:
Seems like Soma left us a parting gift.
Shouldn't have let my guard down...

Tatsumi:
This is bad, Aoto. If it gets a chance to sound
its alarms, they'll find out where we are.

Tatsumi:
We've got to smash it to pieces before it gets a chance!

Aoto:
Its shell looks pretty hard, though. I guess we'll have
to take it out with a high level song magic.

Tatsumi:
Hate to admit it, but it looks like it's all up to Saki
this time.

Saki:
I'll do my best!
I'll get a whole bunch of power from the stars
and destroy it!

Aoto:
S...Saki...
T...thanks for the help, but...
Uh...why did you get...umm...u...undressed?

Saki:
So that the stars could give me more power.
The more a reyvateil's skin is visible, the stronger
her magic becomes.
(Yes, that's really what the line says. XD)

Saki:
But it's...still totally embarrassing, so...
I can't make myself go beyond a certain point.

Tatsumi:
Well, it's because you were willing to take
off a layer that we scraped through this one, so...

Tatsumi:
I don't see any problem as long as Aoto isn't
having any sick thoughts.

Aoto:
L...like I'd think about things like that!

Tatsumi:
Really?

Aoto:
N...nah...
I'm just...a little concerned...is all.

Saki:
….

Tatsumi:
Geez...
Looks like it's going to be more of a problem
getting Aoto to accept it than Saki.

Aoto:
A...anyway, I sure am glad we got through
that okay. It's thanks to you, Saki!

Tatsumi:
You've got a long way to go, Aoto.

Aoto:
Huh?

Tatsumi:
You're looking at things too simply.
You ought to learn from this experience.

Aoto:
What!?
Like you saw that attack coming any more
than me!

Saki:
U...umm...
Please don't fight, you two!

Aoto:
Ah...no...

Tatsumi:
We're not fighting.

(Saki talk matter: 脱ぐのは命がけ)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
So you've got to take off your clothes to gain more power, right?

Saki:
Y...yes.
The more I take off, the more power the stars
grant me.

Aoto:
I see...
Wouldn't it be good to take a hot water bottle or something?

Saki:
Eh? Why?

Aoto:
For when you need to get undressed in cold places,
or places where the wind's really strong.

Aoto:
You might get sick or catch a cold otherwise.

Saki:
I'm not worried about that.

Saki:
The more I take off the more embarrassed I get,
and the more hot my body becomes!

Aoto:
Wait, was it my imagination, or did I just hear
something really incredible?

(Saki talk matter: これ、いいの?)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Saki:
Aoto, you have a Rescue Syringe, right?

Aoto:
Yeah, I've got one...
What's wrong? You look sorta pale.

Saki:
It's a needle, isn't it?
Will you be okay with something like that?

Aoto:
Why wouldn't I be?

Saki:
Well there are lots of different types
of needle, right? Hypodermic needles,
IV needles...

Saki:
And I'm pretty sure that there's a precise
way of administering each one.

Aoto:
I guess so, huh?

Saki:
Will we be okay if we use them without
knowing about stuff like that?

Aoto:
That's a pretty frightening thought. Maybe
we should use other stuff from now on?

(Enter the room with Finnel)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Huh?

Saki:
What's wrong, Aoto?

Aoto:
No, it's just...
I thought I heard a voice.

Saki:
Eh?

Tatsumi:
Making up stuff again...

Aoto:
I really did! Let's take a look around.

?????:
Somebody help me!

Aoto:
What the...!?

Tatsumi:
A girl?

Saki:
T...t...this is bad!

Aoto:
Hey! Are you okay!?

?????:
Help me!
Lemme down from here!

Saki:
W...w...what do we do, Aoto!?

Aoto:
We gotta help her quickly.

Tatsumi:
H...hey!
We're in enough trouble as is!

Aoto:
But we can't just leave her there!

Saki:
A...Aoto's right! Let's go help!

Aoto:
Right!

(PROCEED TO SPOT ABOVE FINNEL)

Aoto:
Hey! Are you alright!?

?????:
Of course I'm not alright!
I'm gonna fall!

Saki:
She's all the way down there... Aoto...

Aoto:
Just leave it to me.
I work on places like this all the time.
A cliff like this'll be no problem.

Aoto:
Can you hear me!?
I'm going to come and help now, so don't move!

?????:
O...okay...

Aoto:
Right then.
Saki:
Good luck!

Aoto:
Gotcha.

Saki:
You did it!

Aoto:
Phew. Guess I can catch
my breath now.

?????:
Ha...ha... I'm saved.

Saki:
That was amazing, Aoto!

Aoto:
Eh? R...really?

Saki:
Yep! You were so cool!

Aoto:
Ahaha...

Aoto:
Anyway, what were you doing down there?

?????:
Huh!? Well...I was...

?????:
I was going for a little walk, and
I got kinda lost.

Aoto:
Lost...?

?????:
W...what's so funny?

Aoto:
It's nothing...

Tatsumi:
…..

Saki:
Umm...I'm Saki.
What's your name? Where are you from?

Finnel:
I'm Finnel. I live in Tokoshie Canopy.

Aoto:
Tokoshie Canopy...?

Saki:
Really? That's where we're going too!
Do you want to come with us?
It's fine, right Aoto?

Aoto:
Huh? Y...yeah, I guess that might be good.

Saki:
It's settled then!
I've never had the chance to spend time
with a girl my age before, so I'm sort of happy!

Saki:
I hope we can be friends!

Finnel:
Y...yeah, me too. Pleased to meet you!

Saki:
Ehehe...I'm so glad.

Aoto:
Good for you, Saki.

Saki:
Mmhm!
Oh yes, would it be okay if I called
you Fillie?

Finnel:
F...Fillie?

Saki:
Yep! Fillie!
Don't you think it has a cute ring to it?

Finnel:
U...umm...well...it's kinda...

Aoto:
Haha! It totally suits you!
It's perfect for someone as
slow as you!

Finnel:
W...whaddaya mean by slow?

Aoto:
Well you climbed all the way up
there and couldn't get back down, right?
Gotta be pretty slow to do that.

Finnel:
H...hey, you just said it again!

Saki:
A...Aoto, stop being so mean.

Finnel:
Saki...

Saki:
Fillie isn't slow. She's
just a little bit clumsy and careless!

Finnel:
S...Saki, is that supposed to make me
feel better?

Aoto:
Ahahahaha!
It really does fit you like a glove.
Fillie!

Finnel:
H...hey, quit laughing!
And quit calling me Fillie already.

Saki:
R...really?
Then how about Fil?

Tatsumi:
Uh, not to butt in or anything...

Tatsumi:
But she's okay, right? Let's
get going already.

Finnel:
Ah!

Finnel:
Ahhhhh...!

Saki:
W...what's wrong?

Aoto:
What was that? It was really pretty!
A piece of jewellery or something?

Finnel:
Eh? Y...yeah, that's right.
It's really important to me, so I had
to put it away somewhere safe.

Tatsumi:
…..

Finnel:
So anyway, we're heading for Tokushie Canopy,
right? There are a bunch of monsters around here,
so we'd better hurry!

Saki:
Ah, wait up Fil!
It's too dangerous on your own!

Aoto:
…..

Aoto:
Hey, Tatsumi, weren't you being kinda cold?

Aoto:
You weren't exactly cooperative when we
were trying to save her, either.

Tatsumi:
I guess? I just have a bad feeling about this.

Aoto:
A bad feeling? You won't lend someone
a hand over a bad feeling?

Tatsumi:
You just trust people too easily.

Aoto:
Tch...he's really weird sometimes.

(Introduction to Finnel's talk matter)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Finnel:
U...umm...

Aoto:
That voice...
Finnel?

Finnel:
Is it okay if I come in?

Aoto:
Yeah, sure.

Finnel:
S...sorry to come by so late.

Aoto:
What's wrong?

Finnel:
N...no, it's just...
I didn't get a chance to thank
you properly for helping me earlier.

Aoto:
Don't worry about it, it was nothing!

Finnel:
But you could've gotten hurt...

Aoto:
Nah, it's not so dangerous. I do construction
work, so I'm used to working on much
higher places than that.

Finnel:
Eh...!? Taller places than that!? Like everyday!?

Aoto:
Yeah, it's a total pain. The boss isn't shy
about working us to the bone.

Aoto:
Heights like that are just for starters.
When things have gotten really bad, I've had
to do my work clinging to sheer cliff faces.

Finnel:
Really!?
You're amazing, Aoto!

Aoto:
Nah, not really. Though I suppose it'd probably
be pretty hard for a certain someone who was dangling
desperately from the cliff back there.

Finnel:
Yeah, I think I'll pass...

Finnel:
Anyway, I just wanted to thank you
for saving me.

Finnel:
You're kinda interesting, though, Aoto.
When I first met you I thought you seemed
kinda rude, but talking to you now you don't seem so bad.

Aoto:
You thought I was rude...?

Finnel:
Hey... Do you think it's okay if maybe...
We could chat again some night?

Aoto:
Huh? Yeah, sure thing.

Finnel:
Ehehe, thanks!
I probably ought to be heading off to bed now.
See you tomorrow!

Aoto:
Yeah, sleep well.

Finnel:
Will do!

(Saki talk matter: フィルちゃんのこと)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Saki:
Fil is pretty athletic, isn't she?

Aoto:
Eh? Why?

Saki:
She managed to climb all the way up there.
I'm useless at physical exercise, so it'd definitely be impossible for me.

Aoto:
No no, you've got it all wrong.

Aoto:
Someone who's really athletic should be able to
get DOWN from the places they climb up to.

Aoto:
More than athletic, I'd say she's just a regular old tomboy
who doesn't know when to quit.

Saki:
That just shows that she's full of energy.
I think it's nice and cute!

Aoto:
Yeah, I guess maybe...

Saki:
And to be honest, I'm just a little jealous of her.

Saki:
I'd like to be the sort of girl who was athletic
enough to climb up to high places like that on her own.

Aoto:
I'm not sure that'd be such a good thing...

Aoto:
(Maybe if her energy actually lasted 'til she got back down again...)

(Finnel talk matter: 何やってんだ?)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Hey, are you afraid of heights of something?

Finnel:
N...not at all!
I'm not scared in the slightest!

Aoto:
Then how come you got stuck and had to call for help?

Aoto:
If you weren't scared, you would've been fine, right?

Finnel:
T...that's true.

Finnel:
...but it's really not that I don't like high places.

Finnel:
Just...places without too many footholds.

Aoto:
Got it.

Finnel:
There's barely any footholds in the cliffs around
here, right?

Finnel:
When I stand in a place like that, I feel
like the ground below me is going to swallow me up.

Aoto:
Ahh, I know the feeling.

Aoto:
I felt the same way when I first started work
and got asked to work in places without many footholds.

Aoto:
But if you feel that way, you just shouldn't go
there by yourself.

Finnel:
It's not like I wanted to go...

Aoto:
Eh? Did you say something?

Finnel:
No no, nothing!

(Finnel talk matter: 変わってるよね)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Finnel:
Your weapon's really weird, isn't it Aoto?

Aoto:
I probably shouldn't be saying this,
but I agree.

Finnel:
Is it a drill, is it a sword, or is it a pair of scissors?
It's like a hotpot of different weapons!

Aoto:
That's not the nicest way of putting it, but...
Yeah, you're right.

Aoto:
But because of that it can do a whole bunch
of things. It's really useful!

Finnel:
I guess so, but...

Aoto:
Of course there's the problem of how heavy it is...

Finnel:
You really ought to think about changing it.

(Enter Tokushie Canopy)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Saki:
So this is Tokushie Canopy!
It feels bright and dark all at once. How mysterious...

Finnel:
I guess this is goodbye, then!

Aoto:
Huh? I can see you to your house, at least.

Finnel:
It's fine! It's safe here anyway, and I'll be
fine on my own. Catch you later!

Saki:
What was up with Fil?

Aoto:
Beats me. Maybe she needed the toilet or something?

Tatsumi:
Let's get going too. Head for HikariGojyo's Clinic.

Aoto:
Is that where the knowledgeable doctor you mentioned
earlier works?

Tatsumi:
That's right.

Aoto:
Right, let's hurry then. Where is it?

Tatsumi:
Uhh...where was it again...?

Aoto:
Jeez, get it together...

Tatsumi:
I'm pretty sure it was quite far into the city.
In a place called Backlight Market...

Aoto:
Got it. Let's go take a look.

(Go to Backlight Market)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Is this the place you were talking about?

Tatsumi:
Yep. Let's go in.

Nurse:
Hello! Are you wanting a checkup?

Aoto:
Uh...yeah.
We came here after hearing that there was
a doctor who treated reyvateils.

Nurse:
The doctor is currently out on his rounds.
Can you wait a while?

Aoto:
Drat, that throws a spanner into things.
What should we do?

Tatsumi:
We can't really do anything about it if
he's not here. Let's come back later. Luckily she doesn't
need urgent attention anyway.

Aoto:
Yeah, guess so. Let's go and find somewhere
to burn some time then. Is that okay, Saki?

Saki:
That's fine!
I'd like to take a look around the city anyway.

Aoto:
Right then, let's go.

(Go to Mizumori Plaza)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Huh? Those people look pretty riled up.

Tatsumi:
Something might've happened. Let's go ask.

Tatsumi:
Excuse me, but did something bad happen?

Man:
Y...yeah. It was the Clusternia army.

Aoto:
Clusternia!? What'd they do this time?

Man:
Apparently a whole bunch of their soldiers are
gathering in Jouteimon Harbour.

Man:
Word is they're searching for a revyateil.

Saki:
…!

Aoto:
Is that...right?

Man:
Guess it must be pretty important to 'em.

Aoto:
Man, that was a shock!
Looks like word of Saki has spread all
around the Great Claw now.

Tatsumi:
Those guys didn't seem to recognise her face, at least,
but it's probably best if we tread carefully.

(Go into Finnel's diner)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Tatsumi:
D...doctor!

?????:
If it isn't Tatsumi! It's been a while!
Did you get back from your training journey?

Aoto:
This is the doctor you mentioned?

HikariGojyo:
Oh? Are you a friend of Tatsumi's.
Pleased to me you. My name is HikariGojyo.

Aoto:
Y...yeah, pleased to meetcha.

Tatsumi:
Let's save the formal introductions for later.
We've got a patient we need you to take a look at.
She's a reyvateil, your specialty.

Finnel:
Hey!

Finnel:
I'm talking to the doctor right n...huh?

Finnel:
Y...you're...!

Aoto:
If it isn't Ms. Slowpoke!

Finnel:
Y...you called me slow again!?

Aoto:
So you stay at a restaurant?
You should've said so! I would've
got you to treat me to a meal.

Finnel:
Like I would've!

HikariGojyo:
Oh, you already know Finnel?

Aoto:
Yeah, we met her on our way here.
She was so slow that she...

Finnel:
H...hey! You don't need to go telling him th...!

Finnel:
Ah!

Aoto:
Hey, wasn't that the same thing that shone before?

Finnel:
Ah! I'm sorry, but I'm feeling kind of sick now!
Take care of yourselves!

Aoto:
H...hey!
There she goes. What a weirdo.

Saki:
Doctor, are you a friend of Finnel's?

HikariGojyo:
That's right. She's the poster girl for this diner,
and a patient of mine.

HikariGojyo:
Anyway, that's my rounds finished for the day,
so I suppose it's time we headed back to the clinic
and took a look at you, Ms. Reyvateil.

Saki:
O...okay! Thank you for your help.

HikariGojyo:
Shall we get going, then?

(SCENE CHANGES TO THE CLINIC)

HikariGojyo:
Well then, first of all why don't you explain the situation
to me?

Aoto:
When I first met Saki, she was completely
different. Almost like another person
altogether.

HikariGojyo:
Physically?

Aoto:
Yes. Her personality was totally different
too, though. When I first met her she seemed
like some sort of swordswoman.

Aoto:
She doesn't remember it herself.
She also seems to have lost most of her
memories from around that time.

HikariGojyo:
So her body changed, and she appears to
be missing some memories?

Aoto:
I don't have a clue what happened. I
want to say it's impossible, but I think the only
explanation is that the swordswoman turned into Saki.

HikariGojyo:
I see.
I'll go ahead and take a look at her.
She'll need to stay overnight at the hospital. Is that okay?

Aoto:
S...stay?

Aoto:
Hey, Tatsumi...
How much cash have you got?

Tatsumi:
I'm totally broke. I left most of my stuff
back in Cielo Valley, too.

Aoto:
Man...

HikariGojyo:
What's wrong?

Aoto:
W...well...
We have something of a problem...

HikariGojyo:
I see. Naturally I can't let her stay
here for nothing.

HikariGojyo:
Still, I understand that you're in a difficult
position, so if you help me out I'll let the bill
slide. How about that?

Aoto:
S...seriously!?

Saki:
Thank you so much!

Tatsumi:
What do you want us to do?

HikariGojyo:
Our chemist is away on leave at the moment.
I'd like for you to have a try at making some simple
medicine.

Aoto:
Medicine...? I think that might be a bit beyond us...

HikariGojyo:
It doesn't really involve much more than
measuring the correct quantities and mixing them.
So long as you're careful you ought to be fine. How about it?

Aoto:
Really? If that's all that it is, then...

HikariGojyo:
Thanks. It'll be a huge help.
I'd like for you to make a single
bottle of a medicine called 'Shakirin V'.

HikariGojyo:
I'll give you this recipe card. All the details are
on it.

HikariGojyo:
And here's the ingredients. I'll give you extras
in case you mess up. If you have any left over,
maybe you ought to make some for yourself too.

HikariGojyo:
I'm counting on you.

Aoto:
Roger!

(OUTSIDE THE CLINIC)

Saki:
Aoto...Tatsumi...
I'm so sorry that you're having to do all this for me.

Aoto:
Hey, we're friends, right?
Don't worry about it.

Tatsumi:
Exactly. You help us out all the time in
battle, too. We'll have it whipped up in
a second.

(YOU'RE TAKEN TO AN INN)

Tatsumi:
Let's rent a room here to make the medicine.

(Synthesising)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Man, it's a pain having to mix everything
together.

Saki:
Maybe you should try approaching it like
it was cooking?

Tatsumi:
Nah, that'd wouldn't work. Aoto cooks like
a guy.

Aoto:
Hey, you'd be surprised at all the delicious stuff I can make.

Aoto:
Anyway, I guess measuring the ingredients doesn't
matter much, so it's probably okay just to do it
by eye.

Saki:
That's fine for cooking, but it might be
kinda bad when you're making medicine.

Tatsumi:
Agreed. And it's not like we're just making
it for us, either. They're going to be using
it in the clinic.

Aoto:
I guess so. The doc's taking a look at Saki
for us, too, so I guess we'd better do it
by the book.

Saki:
It's done!

Aoto:
This looks like it'll be fine.

Tatsumi:
I guess this is the first thing you've synthesised
too, huh?

Saki:
Congratulations, Aoto!

Aoto:
Well it's not like it was really difficult
or anything...

Tatsumi:
Naturally. There's no way a first
timer could make something really
difficult.

Tatsumi:
Still, you've learned the basic theory now, so
it might be good to play around with synthesising
a little as we go along.

Aoto:
Yeah.
It was pretty fun, too.

Aoto:
What was the medicine called again?

Saki:
Shakirin V.

Aoto:
Then I guess we have a completed Shakirin V!

Saki:
This is sort of a big occasion, though, seeing as how it's
the first thing you've made. Maybe we should give it
a cuter name?

Saki:
I think we ought to call it 'Kyakkya Powerful'!

(I agreed. ;P)

Aoto:
Right, let's head back to the clinic!

(Back at the clinic)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
HikariGojyo:
My, that was quick.
Thank you for your help.

Aoto:
So you'll examine Saki, then?

HikariGojyo:
Of course! I've set out a room for her,
and made preparations for the examination.

Aoto:
Awesome!
Thanks, doc!

Saki:
Thank you!

HikariGojyo:
You'll be staying here until tomorrow, then.

Saki:
Please take good care of me.

Aoto:
Guess we'll spend the night in the city too, then.

Tatsumi:
Huh? 'We'?

Aoto:
I'm going to wait here until Saki's examination is over.
You agreed to help protect her 'til we got her somewhere safe,
right? Why not stick around for the night?

Tatsumi:
Tch...fine, I guess. It's not like I have anything better to do...

HikariGojyo:
Sorry to keep you waiting.
Here's an extra something from me.

Aoto:
What is it?

HikariGojyo:
A coupon for the diner we met in earlier.
Finnel gave it to me, but I'm not much for eating
out. Go ahead and use it if you like.

Tatsumi:
Now that you mention it, we haven't eaten a thing today.

Aoto:
Yeah, you're right. Guess I'll take you up on your offer, then.

????:
Doctor HikariGojyo!

Tatsumi:
Rufan!

Rufan:
Tatsumi! It's been a while.
I didn't expect to see you here.

Aoto:
A friend of yours, Tatsumi...?

Tatsumi:
…...

HikariGojyo:
What's got you so worried, Rufan?

Rufan:
Oh, that's right. It's really bad!
Clusternia have...decided to cleanse
Fallen Heaven Peak.

Tatsumi:
What!?

HikariGojyo:
They're going to wipe out a whole town?
But why!?

Rufan:
They're claiming it's punishment for
sheltering a reyvateil called Saki.

Rufan:
Unless Saki is found and brought to
Jouteimon, they intend to proceed
with the cleansing!

Saki:
…..

Rufan:
But apparently this Saki girl hasn't been
found yet, and since you're renowned as the most
knowledgeable person about reyvateils on
the Great Fang...

Rufan:
I came to ask whether she had come by here.

HikariGojyo:
I'm hardly the only doctor who treats reyvateils, though.

Rufan:
Naturally, our Great Claw mobilisation force
has also sent envoys to other physicians known
to treat reyvateils.

Rufan:
An entire city hangs in the balance, so there
is little time for formalities or niceties.
I hope you'll forgive the sudden intrusion.

HikariGojyo:
I understand.

Rufan:
Tatsumi, can I also ask for your help?

Tatsumi:
...can't be bothered.

Rufan:
But Fallen Heaven Peak is governed
by Master Gengai!

Rufan:
He's currently preparing for the worst
case scenario and strengthening the city's defences.

Tatsumi:
By himself!?

Rufan:
Indeed. Despite the injuries he suffered
at the hands of Soma the assassin just a few days ago.

Tatsumi:
Soma...!?

Rufan:
My hands are full enough as is.
I don't have time to return to the city.
Please tell me you'll help Master Gengai!

Tatsumi:
Master...

Aoto:
Tatsumi...?

Rufan:
Regardless, I must take my leave now.

Aoto:
Tatsumi, who was that guy?

Tatsumi:
Rufan. I guess you could call him Master Gengai's
right hand man. We never really got along, though, so
we mostly stayed out of each other's way.

Aoto:
What're you going to do?

Tatsumi:
I should be asking you that.
What are you going to do about Saki?

Aoto:
That's...!

Saki:
Aoto...

Aoto:
Saki...

HikariGojyo:
I'd like to remain a neutral party in this.
You're the one who brought her to see me,
so I'll leave the decision up to you.

Aoto:
…..

Saki:
…..

Aoto:
Hey, Saki... Who are you?
Why are you so important to Clusternia?

Saki:
...I'm sorry...

Aoto:
So the future of a whole city...and the lives of everyone in it...come down to my judgement?

Saki:
…..

Aoto:
Why? Why do I have to choose?

Saki:
...I'm sorry...

Aoto:
…..

Saki:
…..

Aoto:
I can't...choose.

Saki:
Aoto...

Aoto:
…?

Saki:
I'll go.

Aoto:
Saki!

Saki:
I can't stand the thought of so many
people losing their lives because of me.
So...

Aoto:
No!

Saki:
Aoto?

Aoto:
…..

Saki:
...thank you.
For protecting me 'til now.

Aoto:
...Saki.

(OUTSIDE THE CLINIC)

HikariGojyo:
Don't worry.
I'll take responsibility for escorting Saki.

Aoto:
...thanks.
….

HikariGojyo:
Aoto?
Are you okay?

Aoto:
...Doc.

HikariGojyo:
Yes?

Aoto:
Do you know where...'Ougai' is?

HikariGojyo:
Ougai? Ougai is a border city in the tower.
A metropolis ruled by the Arkia Corporation.

Aoto:
The tower...? I see...so that's where she lived...
Still, I would've liked to...see her home.

Tatsumi:
Aoto...

HikariGojyo:
Aoto, nobody can say for certain which
choice was the right one.
You mustn't blame yourself.

Aoto:
...Doc...

HikariGojyo:
Anyway, I'm going to go to the mayor's
office and request an airship to take us to
the city.

HikariGojyo:
Can I leave Saki with you until then?
If anything happens, you can call me on the telemo.

Tatsumi:
Okay.

Aoto:
…..

Tatsumi:
Let's go.

Aoto:
I...can't face her...

(Go to Finnel's diner)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Man, what am I doing...
Coming to a diner because I can't
face up to reality. Like that's going to solve anything...

Aoto:
I said I wouldn't run away and that I'd take
responsibility, but in the end I let Saki...

Rue:
Welcome!
What's wrong? You're looking awful glum.
If you want something to eat them come in and sit yourself down.

Aoto:
Y...yeah, sorry.

Tatsumi:
Aoto! So you came here, huh?
I got worried and came looking for you.

Aoto:
Tatsumi... Where's Saki?

Tatsumi:
The doctor came back, so...
I doubt we'll see her again.

Aoto:
I guess you were right.

Tatsumi:
…?

Aoto:
I was such an idiot...

Tatsumi:
Sometimes there's nothing you can do,
no matter how hard you try. You just met
her under bad circumstances.

Aoto:
Those Clusternian bastards!
Threatening to smash a whole city if
you don't get your own way is completely insane!

Rue:
That's how Clusternia do things.

Aoto:
…?

Rue:
It's been that way forever.
What are they trying to do this time?

Aoto:
W...well...

Rue:
If it's something you can't talk about,
I won't pry.

Rue:
But they don't care about reasons.
All they want is an excuse to keep
our numbers down.

Aoto:
This is too much...

Tatsumi:
I know.

Tatsumi:
Anyway, I suppose this is
the end of our journey together.

Aoto:
…?

Tatsumi:
It's not that I want to do Rufan a favour or anything,
but I'm going to go help Master Gengai.

Tatsumi:
You should head back to Cielo Valley.
As long as you stay under the radar, I don't think they'll notice.

Finnel:
Um...umumumumu...

Aoto:
Huh? When did you come in?

Tatsumi:
What is it?

Finnel:
A...ahem!

Finnel:
Good sir, might I interest you in
a reyvateil escort on your journey?
Song magic powerful enough to split any enemy
in half can be yours now for the low low price of...

Aoto:
I'll pass.

Finnel:
I wasn't talking to you!
I was talking to him!

Aoto:
Huh!?

Tatsumi:
Thanks for the offer, but even if I'm pretty small,
I'm used to travelling alone.

Finnel:
I...is that so...

Aoto:
Are you sure?

Tatsumi:
Let's just worry about finding an inn for the
night. We'll go our separate ways
tomorrow.

(Go to Mizumori Inn)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Tatsumi:
We can stay here for the night.

Aoto:
Okay.

Tatsumi:
Come on, you can't mope around forever.
Let's get some rest. We've got an early start tomorrow.

Aoto:
Yeah...

(Rest at the inn and wake up the next day)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Tatsumi:
Later...

Aoto.
Yeah. Take care.

Tatsumi:
You too.

Rufan:
Tatsumi!
They're going to purge Fallen Heaven Peak!

Tatsumi:
Rufan! What do you mean purge!?
Clusternia's demands were met, right!?

Rufan:
It seems that Clusternia's forces locked down
Jouteimon's skyport, and forcibly denied the
ship carrying Saki entry.

Tatsumi:
That's ridiculous...

Aoto:
It's true, then! It's just like the woman at the
diner said. They were just using Saki as an excuse
to cleanse the city. Damn it!

Tatsumi:
What happened to Saki!?

Rufan:
She escaped on a ship with Master Gengai.
I hear they're heading for Fallen Heaven Peak.

Tatsumi:
So he figures that if Saki's really important to
them, he can use her as a hostage...?

Rufan:
Are you two...friends of Saki's?

Tatsumi:
Yeah, sorry for not telling you. Things were
kind of complicated. Anyway, I've got to get to
Fallen Heaven Peak!

Aoto:
Wait up! I'll go with you!

Tatsumi:
Aoto...

Aoto:
I gave up Saki because I thought it'd
save the lives of the people of Fallen Heaven
Peak. And Saki said she hated the thought of all those people dying too!

Tatsumi:
...do what you want.
I don't really care either way.

Aoto:
...! Right!

Rufan:
I'm grateful for your help.

Aoto:
Let's hurry up and get going!

Rufan:
Wait a moment!

Aoto:
Huh...?

Rufan:
Fallen Heaven Peak is home to
some fearsome monsters. It'll be dangerous
to go without a reyvateil.

Aoto:
Then I guess...

Rufan:
Tatsumi, is there anyone you know that
might be able to help.

Aoto and Tatsumi:
There is someone.

(SCENE CHANGES TO FINNEL'S DINER)

Aoto:
Yo, Finnel!

Finnel:
Aoto?

Rufan:
…!?
Y...you're...!

Finnel:
Eh...?
Is there something wrong?

Rufan:
N...no, it's nothing.
Please continue.

Tatsumi:
We've had a change of plans, Finnel.
We're headed for Fallen Heaven Peak,
and we want you as an escort.

Finnel:
F...Fallen Heaven Peak?

Aoto:
Good news! You've got the job!

Finnel:
Got the job...? But if you're going to
Fallen Heaven Peak...

Aoto:
What's the matter? Scared?

Finnel:
A...as if!

Tatsumi:
We're not going to force you.

Finnel:
I said I'm not scared!

Aoto:
Then are you coming or not!?

Finnel:
I...I'll go! I'll definitely go!

Aoto:
Right, let's go!

Rufan:
…..

Rufan:
Wait a moment.

Aoto:
Again? What is it now?

Rufan:
Finnel, have you ever tried diving before?

Finnel:
U...umm... Probably not...

Rufan:
The path to Fallen Heaven Peak is pretty rough,
and a reyvateil without effective song magic
will just be dead weight.

Finnel:
Uuu...

Rufan:
If we're going to take her with us, we'll need
to dive into her and strengthen her song magic
first.

Finnel:
Eh...!?
Like...right now!?
Who's going to dive!?

Rufan:
Hmm...

Tatsumi:
I'll pass.

Aoto:
Wh...!?

Rufan:
Well then, Aoto, if you will.

Aoto:
Why do I have to do it!?

Finnel:
Eh!?
Why does my first time diving have
to be with a jerk like him!?

Aoto:
You think I want to do it either!?

Tatsumi:
Then I guess there's no choice but to fork
out the money for a reyvateil who actually
knows how to sing.

Finnel:
Huh!?

Tatsumi:
You can't put a price on safety.
Let's go.

Aoto:
R...right!

Finnel:
W...w...w...
Waaaaaaaait!

Aoto:
H...hey, what're you yelling about all of
a sudden?

Finnel:
I'm absolutely, definitely, positively not letting you
walk out of here. I really want to go with Tatsumi!

Tatsumi:
Huh...!?

Aoto:
W...why do you want to go with him!?

Finnel:
N...no, it's just that...
W...well I guess Aoto might be okay too,
but there are little differences...

Aoto:
…?

Tatsumi:
….?

Finnel:
Fine, fine! I've just got to do the
stupid dive, right!?

Finnel:
I can't let this huge chance go
to waste. Not after I've finally found it.
The thing I wanted most of all...

Aoto:
Huh? Did you say something?

Finnel:
N...no, nothing!

Rufan:
Well then, Aoto...

Tatsumi:
Looks like you're up.

Finnel:
Y...you'd better be gentle.

Aoto:
H...hey, I didn't even say I'd do it!

Rufan:
Let's hurry to the Dive Shop. It's in
Mizumori Plaza.

(Finnel talk matter: 看板娘だっけか?)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
I guess it's a bit late to be worrying about this,
but is it really okay for you to come with us?

Finnel:
What do you mean?

Aoto:
Well you were the poster girl for that diner,
right? Is it okay for you to just take off
like this?

Finnel:
Ah, it'll be no problem!

Finnel:
When the food's that good, you don't need
a pretty face doing the advertising.
A whole bunch of customers'll come on their own.

Aoto:
I see. The food there was really good, now
that you mention it!

Finnel:
Yep! It's a diner, after all, so taste has to
come first.

Finnel:
There's no need to worry. The place'll
be fine without me!

Aoto:
Though I guess that's kind of sad in its own way.

Finnel:
Yeah, maybe...

(Go to the Dive Shop)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Owner:
Welcome.

Aoto:
Huh? Uh...this is a dive shop, right?

Owner:
That's right.

Aoto:
…..

Owner:
…..

Aoto:
You can't really feel the love.

Tatsumi:
Dive shops aren't really known for their warm
and inviting atmospheres.

Rufan:
Indeed.
Diving is a way of interacting
with a reyvateil's inner self.

Rufan:
The most important thing is that the
reyvateil and her partner trust each other.

Aoto:
Trust...?

Finnel:
W...what!?

Aoto:
It's nothing. I just feel pretty uneasy
all of a sudden.

Finnel:
Y...you think you're the one feeling uneasy!?

Owner:
Hey!

Owner:
Just how much of my time are you gonna waste?
Are you gonna dive or not? If you are, quit yer whining
and man up already!

Aoto and Finnel:
S...sorry!

Owner:
Tch...kids are such a pain.

Aoto:
You're pretty grouchy for a
store clerk.

Owner:
Huh?

Aoto:
No no! Nothing at all!

Tatsumi:
Rufan, please continue your
explanation.

Rufan:
As I mentioned before, diving allows you
to enter a reyvateil's heart to strengthen
her song magic.

Rufan:
To sing the strongest song magic, a reyvateil's
heart must be strong and completely clear of doubt.
Diving allows her to strengthen her heart to that end.

Rufan:
As the reyvateil and her partner overcome various
challenges that present themselves in her Soulspace,
the strength of the magic she can craft will naturally
increase.

Rufan:
I hope you'll both do your best to become one
in body and soul.

Finnel:
I'm giving you my precious first dive, so you'd
better not mess things up.

Aoto:
It's not like I asked for it!

Finnel:
Hey, shut up!

Rufan:
Ahhh...

Tatsumi:
Looks like it'll be hard going.

Owner:
Heeeeey!

Owner:
What are you brats whining about?
If you're a man, just do it already
and stop building it up into something it's not!

Owner:
It's not like she can chicken out either,
now that you've come all the way here.

Aoto and Finnel:
O...okay!

That's really awesome! :D Someone's doing a Let's Play over here, but without transcribing the dialogues. I think your translation will be very useful for both for those who have been stuck because of language limitations and those who aren't going to play, but want to experience as much of the game as possible.

So... keep up the good work!

Hello, I'm the person keeping that blog.
If one of us is going to stop I'd rather that it be me, since your translation is more in-depth and likely more accurate too. I've just been summarizing since it allows me to skip the occasional line or conversation that flies over my head. :^_^;:
Please continue, I'm sure a lot of people will appreciate it! (including me)

Honestly, I don't see anything wrong with both of you continuing your work. It's not stated anywhere that only one person can translate the game. Plus, the format used by DOZO and the one used by Izzy compliment each-other. A summary with pictures is awesome, when I want to know what's going on. Sometimes it's hard to deduce that from the dialogue. On the other hand, when I want to learn something about the characters and their personalities, it's easier to do so using dialogue.

So... Keep up the good work, both of you! :yay: I know I can't force anyone to continue, but I'm really thankful for the work you're doing and wouldn't want any of you to get discouraged because the other person's doing something similar.Well, you can always join your effort and make a collab work :XD:

Glad it's appreciated! ^_^ I'm not sure how far I'll get with it before (I'm choosing to be optimistic here, and assuming it's a given) an official translation rolls around, but I just thought it'd be a fun little project to run while I'm playing the game, and figured it might be more fun if I made it public. I didn't really put in much in the way of stage instructions, so it might be quite confusing to people who don't own the game but still want to know what happens. That being said, I think you were right in saying that it compliments DOZO's guide quite nicely. And there's always playthroughs on niconico if people really want to spoil themselves. XD

No no, please don't feel obliged to give up your project because of me. ^_^ As kaitouX said, I think both are helpful in their own way. Besides, you'll make progress much quicker than I will (both by virtue of summaries being quicker than full translations and simply because I'm so damn slow... XD), and I think yours will be much more useful to people. Like I said, I'm really just putting mine up as a curiousity, and I'm not sure if it'll actually be helpful to anyone. ^^ So please continue!

Okay~
I'm not sure why you think I'll be faster though, you're already up to my fourth blog entry in one day. Though I guess that's about the point where the game first starts really burying you in cutscenes, maybe that will slow you down. Certainly did me.

In my defence (?), I'm not usually nearly this productive. I have an essay to write next week, though, and wanted to get a good headstart so I didn't just wimp out and play the game normally because of post-essay fatigue. Besides, you have a couple of weeks on me. Even if I wasn't totally lazy, I'd have a hard time catching up. ^^

And yeah, I'm not really relishing the thought of getting to the Cosmosphere sections. D: A dialogue-heavy JRPG is one thing, but a full on visual novel is quite another. Not sure how I'll cope with some of the inevitable technobabble either, as it's not really my strong suit. About half of Jakuri's lines in ATII sent me scurrying off to my dictionaries. :'D

By the way, is your blog name a reference to Skies of Arcadia? If so, that's pretty hi-five worthy. ^_^

About the technobabble, maybe this will give you a little hand (it's the standard terminology in which we have agreed upon for the At2 Retranslation, which is also consistent with the English terms from At1):

精神世界: Soulspace
導力: Symphonic Power
導体波: Dynamic Wave
定常波: Static Wave
中核三角環: Triangular Nuclear Loop
四次正角性中核環: Selfstabilizing Tesseractal Nuclear Loop
Dセロファン: D-Cellophane

If you need any other terms translated, feel free to PM me.
Oh, and also, Clustania is actually romanized as Clusternia within the game

Thanks a lot, aquagon, that's really useful! ^^ I'm not sure I know what a 'Selfstabilizing Tesseractal Nuclear Loop' is in English, nevermind Japanese, so usually I just take words like that at face value. I've never really thought about how to translate them into my own language. ^_^

Thanks for the tip on Clusternia, too. I'll correct every instance of it tomorrow, when I'm feeling less tired. I really wasn't sure what it'd be in English. I'm trying to correct names as I come across their romanised versions in the game, but until then it's really just a case of taking a stab at them and hoping for the best. Translating made-up words and names can be such a pain. :'D

I'll be sure to PM you if I run into anything difficult!

Apparently I ran out of characters in my first post. XD Probably should've considered that to begin with, but oh well. The translation continues here~! I hadn't meant to do all that much today, as I'm really supposed to be working on a different translation project for university (one which actually earns me marks... ^^). Still, one thing led into another in Finnel's Cosmosphere, and I got stuck with a bunch of other events and talk matter afterward. Oh well~

Also, Finnel's Cosmosphere is reaaaaaally screwed up, and a little bit disturbing. And it's only the first level. o__O I had initially been leaning toward Saki, but my love of Luca and her mess of insecurity issues, trust issues, and try-to-kill-you-every-other-level issues means that this new development is strangely intriguing to me. Choices!

Anyway, translation:

(Finnel's Cosmosphere Level 1)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
So this is a Cosmosphere...

Aoto:
It's pretty creepy, though.
I wonder if everyone's Cosmosphere
is just as bad?

?????:
This one's probably a little bit special.

Aoto:
Agh! You scared the crap outta me!
Who are you!?

Momoko:
I'm Momoko. I'm what you might call
Finnel's Mind Guardian.
Pleased to meet you!

Aoto:
What's a Mind Guardian?

Momoko:
What am I? Hmm...
You can think of me as someone who assists with the
thoughts and wishes of this world's master.

Aoto:
Hmm...that's pretty weird.
Anyway, that means you're on Finnel's side, right?
Good to meet you.

Momoko:
Ehehe... And you.

Aoto:
You wouldn't happen to know where said
master might be, would you?

Momoko:
I wonder...
Probably hiding away somewhere, crying her eyes out?
That tends to be her way.

(Follow the light)

Aoto:
Ugh! What's with this place!?
You can't even move for tacks.

Finnel:
A...Aoto!

Aoto:
Ah? Finnel!?
What're you doing in the middle of all those tacks?
How am I supposed to get over there?

Finnel:
Please...help me!

Aoto:
Hold on!
I'll be there in a sec!

Aoto:
...if I can work out how I'm supposed
to get over all these pins.

Momoko:
What if you just ploughed on through them?

Aoto:
Don't be stupid! That'd hurt like hell.

Momoko:
Tee hee... Don't be so sure.
They won't hurt you at all.

Aoto:
Really?

Finnel:
Aoto!
Hurry up!

Aoto:
I know, I'm just coming!
What do I do...?

(First option)

Aoto:
Okay, guess I gotta be a man!
If you're sure it won't hurt, I'll give it a
shot. But if you're lying, you're going to get it.

Momoko:
If I'm lying.

Aoto:
…!
You're right, they don't hurt.
Is this just...an illusion?

Momoko:
It's just like I said, right?

Aoto:
Hey, Finnel!
These drawing pins aren't real!
Come on out!

Finnel:
They are too...
I stood on one earlier and it
really hurt!

Aoto:
Tch...looks like she won't budge.
Guess I'll go to her.

Finnel:
Aoto...
Thanks for coming to help...

Aoto:
Man, you really are dense...

Aoto:
Why are you in the middle of all
these drawing pins? It's your Cosmosphere, right?
You should be able to free yourself if you want to.

Finnel:
That's impossible...
This is my Cosmosphere, but freedom has
no place here.

Aoto:
I don't get it...
If it's your heart, you ought to be
able to do something about it, right?

Finnel:
W...well, yeah...
But that's not really the problem...

Aoto:
Forget it.
But y'know, your Cosmosphere is pretty
creepy.

Aoto:
Especially that giant eyeball. What's with
that?

Finnel:
I don't know. But for as long as I can remember,
it's been spying on me.

Aoto:
Spying?
Jail cells, drawing pins, and chains...
Did you do something wrong?

Finnel:
I didn't do anything!
I don't understand why things are like
this any more than you do...

Aoto:
Hmm...
I guess the inside of someone's mind
can be pretty complicated, huh?

Aoto:
Anyway, there's no point in hanging around.
Let's get out of here.

Finnel:
But there's all those tacks...
And I haven't eaten anything for a long time,
so I'm pretty light-headed...

Aoto:
Fine, fine!
I'll carry you.

Finnel:
That won't work. You probably won't
even be able to hold on to me.

Aoto:
Of course I...

Aoto:
You're right!
Geez, what's with this place?

Finnel:
I don't have any more answers than you.

Aoto:
Huh!? Man, I don't get any of this...
Hey, Momoko! Come here
a sec!

Momoko:
You've got a lot of cheek ordering me around.
You're a guest, though, so I'll let it slide.
What do you want?

Aoto:
Why can't I touch Finnel?

Momoko:
You want to touch her? What a perv.

Aoto:
I didn't mean it like that!

Momoko:
All jokes aside, there's no touching allowed.
That's one of this world's rules.

Momoko:
After all, you don't just see guests touching
things in movies and plays now, do you?
Tee hee...

Aoto:
…..

Finnel:
Hey, Aoto...
I'm really hungry...

Aoto:
I know. Wait here a sec.
I'll go and see if I can find anything to eat.

Finnel:
Thanks...

(Out on the map)

Aoto:
I really don't get this place, though.
When you think about it logically, none of it makes any sense.

Momoko:
Hee hee. I know, right?
But that's why a Cosmosphere is so interesting.

Momoko:
The mysteries of the mind! The mysteries a single person holds!
...something like that, anyway.

Aoto:
I think you count as one of those mysteries yourself.
Anyway, can't you at least let Finnel out of there?
It's too cruel...

Momoko:
It's not cruel in the slightest.
She's only there because she wanted to be, after
all.

Aoto:
As if!
She's not even getting meals, right?
Even though she's that hungry...

Momoko:
She wished for that too.
It might seem like a lie, but it's the truth.
I'm sure you'll come to realise that in time too.

(Follow the light)

Aoto:
Drawing pins and cages...
This is quite a world.

Aoto:
What the heck is going on in her mind?

Aoto:
H...huh!?
There's food inside that cage!

Aoto:
But the cell looks pretty solid.
I doubt it's just going to give way...

Aoto:
Hmm...
Oh yeah! Momoko's pretty small.
She might be able to slip between the bars.

Aoto:
Hey Momoko! Come here!

Momoko:
Hey, quit ordering me around already!

Aoto:
You can slip through those bars, right?
Can you go grab the food for me?

Momoko:
Okay. But you won't be able to
eat it, you know.

Aoto:
That's fine.
I'm giving it to Finnel.

Momoko:
In that case, forget it.

Aoto:
Why!?

Momoko:
What do you mean why? There's
no fun in it if you give her food
that easily.

Aoto:
F...fun...
You're supposed to be on her side, right!?

Momoko:
Tee hee... Naturally.

Aoto:
...forget it.
I'll think up something on my own.

Momoko:
Do your best!
I'll be sitting in my corner, pointing and jeering.

(Follow the light)

Aoto:
There's nothing here...

Aoto:
Huh...!?

Aoto:
Someone's chained up over there!

Aoto:
Hey, are you okay!

?????:
Eek! Who are you!?

Aoto:
I'm Aoto.
What are you...? A fairy?

Kotori:
My name's Kotori. I'm one of the hymma
that reside within this world. I guess we're
not entirely unlike fairies.

Aoto:
Hymma?

Momoko:
I guess you'd call them the residents of this
world.

Momoko:
A hymma is one of Finnel's thoughts
or feelings given form as a fairy.

Momoko:
The power of thought trumps all, you know?
So if you manage to become friends with many
hymma, good things are bound to happen.

Kotori:
Pleased to meet you, Aoto.
You wouldn't happen to be a person from the outside
world, would you?

Aoto:
Well I certainly don't live here, no.

Kotori:
Then I have a favour to ask!
Can you remove these shackles?

Kotori:
It's impossible for a person from this world
to remove them. Please help me!

Aoto:
I see... What should I do?

(Second option)

Aoto:
I'll free you. But on one condition.

Aoto:
Once I've freed you, you've got to do what I say.
Got it? My orders are absolute. If that's fine
with you, then...

Kotori:
With pleasure!

Aoto:
Huh...? Is it just my imagination, or did you
say that with just a little too much enthusiasm?

Aoto:
Anyway, here goes!

Aoto:
Right, you're free!

Kotori:
Ah!
Thank you so much!

Aoto:
Right then...

Kotori:
As promised, I shall yield to your orders,
Master Aoto. Please ask me anything you please!

Aoto:
You really do seem a bit too happy about this...

Kotori:
Order me order me order me...

Aoto:
Why are you looking at me so eagerly!?

Kotori:
Order me order me order me order me order me...

Aoto:
I get it, I get it!
Well then...

Aoto:
Please go and fetch me the food
that's in the other cell?

Kotori:
It's not 'please go'.
It's 'go get the damn food!'.
You had to go and take all the fun out of it... Say it again!

Aoto:
Geez, what's with this...

Kotori:
Order me order me order me order me!

Aoto:
Ah fine, I get it!
Slave! Go get the food in the cell and bring
it back here! That's an order!

Kotori:
Y...yes sir!
Anything to please you!

Aoto:
…..

(Out on the map)

Kotori:
Well then, master, shall we head for the cell?

Aoto:
She's a pretty crazy little thing...

Momoko:
Hymmas are composed entirely of one facet of
their owner's personality. So more often that not
they'll end up being one-dimensional extremes.

Momoko:
Of course that does mean that one facet of
Finnel is like that too.

Aoto:
Seriously?
But I've never seen Finnel like that.

Momoko:
Naturally.
Though it's a facet of her, it could be little more than
a wish, or something she keeps hidden
deep below the surface.

Momoko:
A Cosmosphere is full of feelings that might never
be expressed, but have taken the form of hymma.

Momoko:
Aren't you excited? You're getting to see
all of Finnel's dirty little secrets.

Aoto:
It's not like I really...want to
see them...

(Follow the light)

Aoto:
Well, here we are.

Kotori:
So all I have to do is fetch the food in
the cell?

Aoto:
Yep. I'm counting on you!

Kotori:
Here goes!

Kotori:
There we are.

Aoto:
Well done!
You did good.

Kotori:
Tee hee... Thank you.
Imagine me receiving such praise from
my master...

Aoto:
I'm going to take this food to Finnel, then.

Aoto:
Hey, Finnel!
Are you still breathing?

Finnel:
A...Aoto...
I'm so hungry... I can't hold out much longer...

Aoto:
Heh heh... I thought you might say that,
so I brought you a feast!

Finnel:
Eh!? Really?

Kotori:
Master Aoto, shall I give the food
to this girl?

Aoto:
Y...yeah.

Kotori:
Here you go.

Finnel:
It looks so good!
Let's tuck I...

Momoko:
Whee!

Finnel:
Wh...

Aoto:
Hey, Momoko!
What the heck did you do that for?

Momoko:
Well it's no fun if you just give her
the food like that now, is it?

Finnel:
My precious...food...

Momoko:
I wonder what'll happen now... Tee hee hee...

Aoto:
That's it. There's no way you're
on Finnel's side.

Momoko:
How terribly insulting.
Looks like it's time for one of Ms. Momoko's special lessons.

Momoko;
Listen carefully now. A Mind Guardian
has to be made up of a person's most precious
memories and feelings.

Momoko:
So in short, simply being her Mind Guardian
proves that I'm her closest confidante.

Momoko:
Right, Finnel?

Finnel:
Y...yes, of course!

Momoko:
And besides, the only reason it
fell on the floor was 'cause you didn't
carry it properly.

Momoko:
You ruined the food that dearest Aoto
brought all the way over for you.

Finnel:
I...I'm sorry...

Aoto:
Hey! You were the one who knocked it over!

Finnel:
It's all...my fault...
I'll be sure to eat it all so it doesn't go to waste...

Finnel:
Ugh...

Aoto:
Hey, wait! You don't have to eat food
that's fallen on the floor! I'll go search for
something else!

Finnel:
No no, it's fine...
Besides, the food you brought me is so
good anyway...

Finnel:
Ow!

Momoko:
You think you have the right to talk with
dearest Aoto like you were friends? Show a little respect.
He just went out of his way to get you something to eat.

Finnel:
O...of course, I'm sorry...
It's absolutely delicious, Master Aoto.
I'll be sure to eat every last bite, so please excuse my
rudeness.

Momoko:
You see, isn't that much better?

Aoto:
Stop it! I don't want any of this!
It's fine, Finnel. You don't have to eat it!

Finnel:
B...but...

Aoto:
If you're hungry, I'll go fetch you something else.
And if you're afraid of Momoko, I'll scare her off.
So drop all of this already.

Aoto:
I'll protect you.

Finnel:
T...thank you, Aoto.

Aoto:
You don't need to cry anymore, right?

Finnel:
Y...yeah...
I've been alone all this time... Being teased
again and again. It was so lonely...

Aoto:
Finnel...
If something happens in future, come talk
to me about it. I'll always lend a hand.

Finnel:
Thank you...

(Out on the map)

Aoto:
Huh!? What was that!?

Momoko:
My my... If it isn't a paradigm shift.

Aoto:
Para...di...? What's that

Momoko:
You really don't know anything, do you?
I guess Ms. Momoko will have to give you another lecture.

Momoko:
A paradigm shift is proof that Finnel has
opened her heart a little more to you.

Momoko:
Whenever she thinks to herself
that it might be okay to show you a slightly
deeper part of herself, a paradigm shift occurs.

Momoko:
Essentially, it means that she's ready to
show you even more embarrassing things than
before!

Aoto:
S...she really doesn't have to show me any of that
stuff...

Momoko:
Ah, but even if you say that I'll bet you're just
dying to take a peek right?
At Finnel's embarrassing secrets.

Aoto:
No...well...

Maybe just a little...

Momoko:
Tee hee... Aren't we honest.
A paradigm shift also means you'll
progress to a deeper level of her mind.

Momoko:
You'll definitely be able to obtain
even stronger hymma there.

Momoko:
Basically, paradigm shifts are an
essential part of growing stronger.

Aoto:
R...right...

Aoto:
T...then I guess it can't be helped, huh?

Momoko:
That's right.
It can't be helped.

Aoto:
Hey, wait a sec!
What the hell was up with the way
you treated Finnel back there? That was just way
too cruel!

Momoko:
You think? Well, I guess it's natural for
you to have your doubts about me at the moment.
Guess I get to enjoy being the villain for now.

Momoko:
Catch you later!

Aoto:
H...hey!
What the heck's with her...?

Finnel:;
Aoto...

Aoto:
Huh!?
How long have you been there!?

Finnel:
I just got here.
You're going to the stonehenge, right?
I'll go with you.

Aoto:
Ah...right.
Let's go.

(And go you do!)

Aoto:
Wow!
There's light streaming out of the stonehenge...

Finnel:
By passing into that light, I'll move on to a deeper
part of my mind.

Finnel:
This is the first time I've ever done this.
I'm sorta nervous.

Aoto:
…...

Finnel:
Did you know that the deeper you go
into a Cosmosphere, the more wild the
worlds become?

Aoto:
….!?
More wild than this?
Isn't that sort of dangerous!?

Finnel:
M...maybe!
But it'll be fine!
I know you'll protect me again...

Aoto:
T...that's right.

Finnel:
Here goes!

(After diving and unlocking a hymma)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Finnel:
Huh...? I'm feeling sort of strange...
Like there's a new melody ringing out in my
heart. It feels wonderful.

Rufan:
My, congratulations!
It seems you've managed to craft a hymma!

Finnel:
Hymma?

Aoto:
The fairy thing I met called itself
that...

Rufan:
Hymma are fragments of your
feelings, and are essential for
strengthening your song magic.

Rufan:
By using them, you're able to wield
even greater song magic. That's the
ultimate purpose of diving.

Rufan:
We've succeeded in powering up
your song magic, so let's head
for Fallen Heaven Peak.

(Party talk matter ~ begins directly after previous conversation)

Tatsumi:
…..

Finnel:
What's wrong, Tatsumi?

Tatsumi:
Nothing. I was just thinking to
myself that you seem to have good chemistry
after all.

Finnel:
Chemistry?

Tatsumi:
With Aoto.

Finnel:
Eh!?
Why'd you say that!?

Tatsumi:
Well, despite all that fighting, you
still let him dive into you.

Finnel:
T...that was just because you said
I couldn't come with you unless
my song magic was stronger...

Tatsumi:
But you crafted a hymma with him
and everything.

Tatsumi:
I'm say that's proof that you've got
pretty good chemistry.

Finnel:
It is not!

Finnel:
It's just because...umm...

Finnel:
I was just thinking to myself that it
might be nice if I could use stronger
song magic. That's all.

Finnel:
It's not like Aoto really did anything.

Tatsumi:
Heh, is that so.

Finnel:
Do you see now?

Tatsumi:
Well...I'm still a little bit puzzled
that he didn't just get kicked out of
your Cosmosphere straight away.

Finnel:
I said you've got it all wrong!

(Finnel talk matter: 初ダイブ後の感想)

Finnel:
Now that I think about it,
you never asked me how it was.

Aoto:
How it was...?
What do you mean?

Finnel:
…...

Finnel:
I can't believe it!
This from the guy who took my first dive!

Aoto:
Quit making it sound like I'm
some sort of creep! You agreed to it, right?

Finnel:
Well yeah, but...

Aoto:
And you managed to gain
a hymma because of me diving.

Aoto:
Surely you should be happy about it,
not angry.

Finnel:
Ahhh, why'd it have to be
to someone like you!?

Finnel:
Without knowing a thing about
diving you came along and took my first time
away from me. And you didn't even comfort me afterward!

Finnel:
Gimme my first time back!

Aoto:
I get it, I get it...

Aoto:
How about we call it even
since I saved you earlier?

Finnel:
You don't get it at all!
Forget it, you're not worth it!

Aoto:
Guess it's a bit late to be asking,
but aren't you afraid of fighting?

Finnel:
I guess maybe a little.
Why?

Aoto:
Well we've sort of dragged you
around with us all this time.

Finnel:
I came along knowing what I
was in for, so it's fine.

Aoto:
Are you sure? It's okay to
back down now. You don't have
to force yourself.

Finnel:
It's no problem!
I might not look it, but
I'm pretty strong, you know?

Aoto:
B...but still...

Finnel:
I didn't expect you of all
people to worry about me.

Finnel:
Guess you're a nicer guy than I thought.

Aoto:
It's not that...
I'm not worried.

Finnel:
Then I guess there's no problem, then!

Aoto:
W...well, I guess if you say it's okay,
then it's fine...

Aoto:
Huh?

Finnel:
What was that sound?

Tatsumi:
Someone's fighting.

Finnel:
Eh!?

Aoto:
C'mon!

Finnel:
Aoto, that's...!

Aoto:
Saki!

Rufan:
Master Gengai!

Aoto:
Right, let's give 'em a hand!

Tatsumi:
Yeah.

Finnel:
H...here goes!

Aoto:
We'll help!

HikariGojyo:
Aoto! Finnel!

Saki:
Aoto!

Mute:
What?
So a couple more worthless worms
have crawled out of the ground?

Aoto:
Y...you're...!
The one from Cielo Valley!

Mute:
Huh?
Wait, you...! You're that damn brat from before!

Aoto:
Hm...you've got quite a mouth on you for a girl.
Sorry, a ladyboy.

Mute:
Grr...!
You're gonna pay for what you did back then!
Do you know what I had to go through because of you!?

Mute:
This time I'm gonna beat you 'til there's nothing
left but mush!

(BATTLE WITH MUTE)

Mute:
D...damn it!
How can a stupid human be that strong!?
How the hell is it possible!?

Aoto:
Like I know!
Probably 'cause the boss works me to the bone.
You might be huge, but you're weak as they come.

Mute:
I'll pay you back for this, even if it takes me
the rest of my life!

Aoto:
Phew...

Finnel:
We won...

HikariGojyo:
You saved us.

Tatsumi:
Weren't you headed for Fallen Heaven Peak?

HikariGojyo:
We were attacked by one of their ships on
the way, and had to make an emergency landing.

??????:
Wouldn't have expected to get bailed out by you
of all people, though.

Tatsumi:
Master...

??????:
Long time no see, Tatsumi!

Aoto:
'Master'...?
This old dude is your master?

??????:
Well excuse me for not being younger.

Tatsumi:
Ah, I didn't introduce you.
This is my master, Gengai.

Gengai:
…!?

Aoto:
…?

Gengai:
So you're Aoto, huh...?
Seems you've helped Tatsumi quite
a bit. Keep an eye on him, okay?

Tatsumi:
More importantly, master, is it true that
you were attacked by Soma?

Gengai:
Huh? Oh, that was nothing.
Hardly got scratched.

Tatsumi:
Soma...I've got to do something about him...

Finnel:
…!

HikariGojyo:
Anyway, now's not really
the time to be standing around chatting.

Gengai:
Yeah. We've gotta hurry back to Fallen
Heaven Peak.

Finnel:
Huh...?
Hey, where's Rufan gone...?

Gengai:
Huh? Did he disappear again?
He does that all the time. It's probably nothing.

Aoto:
All the time...?

Gengai:
Yeah, well every time he comes back he
brings some big scoop with him.

Gengai:
Anyway, I'm worried about Clusternia's
movements. We need to get back to Fallen Heaven
Peak as quickly as possible

Tatsumi:
Right.

Aoto:
Huh?

Saki:
U...umm...

Aoto:
Saki...

Saki:
Thank you!
You ended up saving me again.

Saki:
I never doubted that you'd come to help me...
Tee hee...

Aoto:
Saki...

Finnel:
…?

Aoto:
Huh? Who's that?

Saki:
Aoto? Are you awake?
Sorry for coming by so late...

Aoto:
Saki!?
What's going on?

Saki:
Umm... I have something
I wanted to ask you.

Aoto:
Sure, go ahead.

Saki:
Umm...well...

Aoto:
…?

Saki:
Um...please dive into
me too!

Aoto:
H...huh!?
Where'd that come from!?

Saki:
I heard that you dived into Finnel.

Saki:
I want to dive too! I want to
change so that I can be more
useful to you!

Aoto:
W...well...

Saki:
Is...is that a no?
I guess it's just like I thought...

Saki:
I was told that you couldn't dive
with someone you didn't really like, so there's no
way you'd want to do it with someone like me...

Aoto:
H...hey, wait a sec! You've got it all wrong!
I don't really think about Finnel like...

Saki:
Eh...?

Aoto:
A...anyway!

Aoto:
Diving's no easy ride, you know?
There's a whole bunch of things that can go wrong.

Aoto:
I promised myself I'd see you safely to Arkia.
I'm not going to do anything that'll put
you in danger.

Saki:
I hate being treated like I'm a doll or something!
I want to be able to look out for you too!

Aoto:
Saki...

Saki:
I want to become strong too.
So please!

Saki:
And I'm only saying this because it's
you. If it were someone else I...wouldn't
be here.

Aoto:
…..

Aoto:
Fine, you win.

Saki:
Eh...?

Aoto:
If you don't mind doing it with me,
then let's dive together, and become
a superhero and heroine!

Saki:
Aoto...!
Thank you!
I'll show you just how strong I can be!

Aoto:
Right! Let's give it our all.

(Saki talk matter: 調合できた!)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Synthesis is easier than I thought.

Saki:
Really?
But this is only the first time you've made
something, right?

Saki:
I think it's pretty amazing that you
find it easy after your very first try.

Aoto:
I guess...
Though the doc did say it was
a simple medicine.

Aoto:
And he still gave us a whole bunch
of extra ingredients in case we messed up.
Does he not trust me or something?

Saki:
H...he was just being careful!
It was your first time, so it's natural
that he'd want to make sure you succeeded.

Aoto:
I suppose you're right. Well, I guess we
did it anyway, so it doesn't really matter.

Saki:
Right! Let's keep making more and more
things as we go along!

(Saki talk matter: へっちゃらですよ)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
Huh? You're looking a bit pale, Saki.

Saki:
Huh?
I am?

Aoto:
Yeah. You look as if you
need a good long rest.
Did something happen?

Saki:
No no, I'm not tired at all.
I'm just fine.

Aoto:
Really?
Well if you say so...

Aoto:
Now that you mention it, though,
you've been fighting with us quite
a lot, haven't you?

Aoto:
You've gotta be pretty tired, right?

Saki:
N...no, not at all.
I want to be of more useful,
so...

Aoto:
It's nice of you to think of me,
but how about you tell me
how you're really feeling?

Saki:
Well I... I'm...used to things
like this, so... Umm...

Aoto:
So I was right.
Sorry I didn't notice earlier.

Saki:
Don't say sorry.
It's true that I'm tired, but
I really don't mind.

Saki:
I'm just really happy that
I can help.

Saki:
So it's no problem at all!

Aoto:
Got it.
Well...don't push yourself too hard, at least.

Aoto:
(Looks like I'd better keep a closer
eye on Saki from here on out...)

(Finnel talk matter: それ見たことか)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Aoto:
So how'd you feel, Finnel?
I bet you're glad you dived now, huh?

Finnel:
W...why'd you ask that all of a sudden?

Aoto:
Well that magic you used to blow away
those Clusternian jerks was really powerful,
right?

Aoto:
I was just thinking that it's 'cause I dived into
you. You ought to be grateful!

Finnel:
…...

Aoto:
What's wrong?

Finnel:
...forget it. I've learned to expect
this much from you.

Finnel:
But you'd better keep diving into
me, okay?

Aoto:
Why the sudden change of heart?
Do you want to grow even stronger
or something?

Finnel:
That too. But I'm more worried about
proving that there isn't a shred of truth in what you said!

Finnel:
I figure it's faster if you experience
things first hand than it will
be trying to lecture you.

Aoto:
I don't really get it, but whatever.
I'll take you up on your offer, at least.

(Finnel talk matter: コスモスフィアレベル1のこと)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Finnel:
Aoto, you triggered a paradigm shift, right?

Aoto:
Y...yeah...

Finnel:
D...did anything bad happen?
You didn't run into anything too
dangerous or horrible, did you?

Aoto:
Huh!?
N...no, not really.

Aoto:
But in your Cosmosphere you
were sort of...

Finnel:
S...stop!
I don't want to hear it!

Finnel:
You shouldn't talk about the things
that happened in a Cosmosphere,
even to the person themselves.

Aoto:
G...got it.

Finnel:
Good.

Finnel:
Though I guess it's only the
first paradigm shift, so I'm sure
the world wasn't too weird. Right?

Finnel:
You'll have to tell me what you
thought sometime.

Aoto:
(Guess it might be best if she didn't
know about a world like that...)

(Finnel talk matter: 休ませろ!!)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Finnel:
Hey Aoto, I've been bailing you
out quite a lot recently, haven't I?

Aoto:
'Bailing out' might be talking yourself
up just a bit, but yeah, if I'm honest you've
been a big help.

Finnel:
H...huh!?

Finnel:
I didn't think you'd just come right
out and say it like that...

Aoto:
The truth is the truth.
Why'd you ask, anyway?

Finnel:
N...no, it's nothing!

Aoto:
If it was nothing, you wouldn't
have come by, right? Spill the beans.

Finnel:
W...well...umm...

Finnel:
I was just thinking that I've been fighting
pretty much every battle to this point, and
I'm getting kinda tired.

Aoto:
Sorry... I should've noticed.

Finnel:
N...no, don't worry about it!
I'm totally fine!

Aoto:
If you're tired, you shouldn't
push yourself.

Finnel:
Don't underestimate me!

Finnel:
Besides, I'm only here in the first
place because you need my power,
right?

Finnel:
Besides, I'm a little worried myself
about what'd happen if I left everything
to a bunch of guys who can't use song magic!

Finnel:
Besides, you're all counting on me. I can't
let you down!

(Saki's Cosmosphere Level 1)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
(The music to this place is so adorable ^_^)

Aoto:
What the...!?
It's like something out of a fairytale.

Aoto:
But I guess a Cosmosphere really does
depend on the person after all. This couldn't
be more different from Finnel's...

?????:
It is most improper to discuss the affairs
of other worlds in a Cosmosphere.

Aoto:
Huh...? You're...

Tsaribella:
A resident of this world. You may call me Tsaribella.
It is my duty to protect my master's mind.

Aoto:
Huh, so you're a Mind Guardian.
But a prince of all of things... How very Saki.

Tsaribella:
I'm not a boy!
And how dare you abbreviate my
master's name!

Aoto:
Abbreviate...?
You mean Saki isn't her real name...!?

Tsaribella:
Hmph... I don't know where you got that
wretched name from, but it appears you're
not someone I can allow to pass very far into her heart.

Tsaribella:
Know that if you try anything unusual, I shall
have no hesitation in removing you immediately!

Aoto:
Man, she's pretty stuck-up...

Aoto:
Though I guess it might be because Saki
has someone like her patrolling her heart
that she's able to be so sweet and gentle.

Aoto:
Anyway, where's Saki?

(Star~!)

Saki:
Lala lalala...

Aoto:
Saki!
So this is where you were.

Saki:
Lalala la lalala...

Aoto:
H...hey, Saki?
Saki!?

Aoto:
Saki...?
Can't you hear me...!?

?????:
It's futile. You're invisible
to her.

Aoto:
Y...you're...! From Cielo Valley!

Sakiya Rumei:
Your name was...Aoto, was it not?
Allow me to introduce myself properly.
My name is Sakiya Rumei. Call me Sakiya.

Aoto:
Good to meet you, Sakiya.

Sakiya Rumei:
Indeed.
Are you here to speak with this girl?

Aoto:
Y...yeah, I'd like to, but...

Sakiya Rumei:
Then perhaps you can help me?
If we succeed, you'll be able to speak with her.

Aoto:
Really?
What do I have to do?

Sakiya Rumei:
I'd like you to search for a hymma
called Modeko. She is the key to speaking
with Saki.

Sakiya Rumei:
If you can catch her, bring her to the stonehenge.
I'm going to head there now and prepare.

Saki:
Lalalala...
Looks like it's time to get changed now.
First we take off this...

Aoto:
S...Saki!?

Saki:
Then this...

Aoto:
Does that mean she's going to...
*gulp*

Sakiya Rumei:
Begone at once, foul brute!

(Back on the map)

Aoto:
Ouch...
She's got a pretty short fuse.

Tsaribella:
Hmph... I sincerely hope you have not
been getting up to any despicable behaviour?

Aoto:
N...not at all...
Hey, now that I think about it, could
your master be Sakiya?

Tsaribella:
Indeed. But you have no business
addressing her so flippantly!

Aoto:
How should I address her?

Tsaribella:
You shall refer to her as Lady Sakiya Rumei!

Aoto:
No way!

Tsaribella:
Then I shall cleave you in half!

Aoto:
I...it was a joke, calm down!
I get it. When we've been together a while
and the time feels right, I'll call her that.

Tsaribella:
Hmph...we have an agreement. Pray that you
do not forget those words.

(I'm not big on the idea of having Aoto perv on Saki, so I didn't head back to the cabin and there's no translation for that bit. Sorry. ;P Head for World Tree Arphage)

Aoto:
This tree is huge.
But it doesn't look like the hymma's here.

Aoto:
…..

Aoto:
Now that I think about it, I remember kicking trees
to catch bugs when I was younger. Doubt it'll work, but...

Aoto:
Let's try kicking it!

?????:
Eeek!

Aoto:
Huh?

?????:
O...ow...
Y...you're terrible!
Interrupting a sweet little hymma's afternoon nap!

Aoto:
I didn't think anything'd actually fall out. Are you
a bug?

?????:
I'm not a bug!
I'm a hymma! Modeko the hymma!

Aoto:
Modeko? You're Modeko!?

?????:
Eek!
W...what's wrong!?

Aoto:
Can you do me a favour and come with me?
It'll really help someone out!

Modeko:
O...okay?
I don't really mind, but...
What should I do?

Aoto:
I'm not really sure myself, but...
We'll be meeting up with someone who knows,
so follow me.

Modeko:
O...okay!

(Back out onto the map)

Aoto:
She said to go to the stonehenge once I
found Modeko...

(Stonehenge it is)

Sakiya Rumei:
Did you succeed in finding her?

Aoto:
Yep, found her!
Look!

Modeko:
Hello, I'm Modeko!
Did you want something with me?

Sakiya Rumei:
That's right. Please excuse my
dragging you all the way over here.

Aoto:
Is she really the key to talking to Saki?

Sakiya Rumei:
Indeed.

Modeko:
Anyway, anyway... What is it you
wanted me to do?

Sakiya Rumei:
…...

Aoto:
H...hey, what's wrong?

Sakiya Rumei:
S...sorry.

Sakiya Rumei:
It's nothing major.
I want you to sing a song that
will open her heart.

Aoto:
Huh? A song...?

Modeko:
Eh!?
So I get to sing!?

Sakiya Rumei:
By all means.
Please sing your heart out.

Modeko:
I'm so happy!
When was the last time I got
to sing in front of someone, I wonder...?

Aoto:
Hey, are you serious!?
What difference is her singing going to make?

Sakiya Rumei:
…...

Aoto:
Hey, are you okay?

Sakiya Rumei:
Y...yes, I'm fine.
I suggest you brace yourself for something of a shock.

Aoto;
Huh...?

Modeko:
I'll give it all I've got!
Here goes nothing!

Modeko:
Whenever I think of you,
I could die!

Aoto:
Uggggh!
Is she tone deaf or something!?

Sakiya Rumei:
Don't waste your breath!
Just brace yourself for the shockwave!

Modeko:
Embrace me, and die!

Aoto:
Agggggh!

Aoto:
That hurt...

Aoto:
W...what was that sound?

Sakiya Rumei:
Hmm... It seems the first
stage was a success.

Aoto:
What have you done?

Sakiya Rumei:
No more than what is necessary
for you to speak with Saki, as you
wished.

Aoto:
Woah!

Sakiya Rumei:
I've done all I can...
I'll leave...Saki to...

Aoto:
Hey, Sakiya!
What've you done to Saki's Soulspace!?

Aoto:
…!?
She's gone...

Aoto:
…!
Saki!
Is she okay!?

Aoto:
I've gotta get to the Organitto Cabin.

(Map)

Aoto:
Woah!
What happened here!?

Aoto:
This is awful... What happened...?
What did she do to Saki's Cosmosphere!?

Aoto:
Hey, Tsaribella! Show yourself!

Aoto:

Aoto:
Damn it! Did she escape with Sakiya!?
For now, I'd better just check on Saki.

(Back to the cabin)

Aoto:
Saki! Are you okay!?

Saki:
Eek!

Aoto:
…!

Saki:
A...Aoto, you...

Saki:
Peeeeeeeervert!

Saki:
Aoto...! Aoto!

Aoto:
U...ugh...

Saki:
Aoto! I'm so glad you're okay...

Aoto:
Ah...what happened to me...?

Saki:
I'm sorry! It's because I hit you so suddenly...

Aoto:
Ah, yeah...
Wait, Saki! You can understand me now, right?

Saki:
Huh? What do you mean? I'm been watching
you the whole time you've been here.

Saki:
But I can't believe you'd walk in
while I was changing...

Aoto:
M...my bad...

Saki:
Ah, but...it's okay...
It's just that it was so sudden, and I got
a little bit of a shock...

Aoto:
…?

Saki:
N...no, it's nothing!
Why'd you burst in here all of sudden, though?
Did something happen?

Aoto:
There was a big earthquake here a second ago, right?
I thought you might've gotten hurt.

Saki:
Eh...? Big...earthquake? I don't remember
anything like that.

Aoto:
Seriously!?
But it's a mess outside. Like some sort
of ruin.

Saki:
Eh!?

(Map)

Saki:
T...this is...!

Aoto:
It was probably Sakiya...
The persona that was living here with you.

Aoto:
And even though it wasn't intentional,
I helped her.

Aoto:
So...I'm sorry...

Saki:
A...Aoto?

Aoto:
I'll put everything back the way it was!
And I'll catch Sakiya and make her explain
everything!

Saki:
It's fine, Aoto! I'm okay, so you don't
need to worry.

Saki:
I'm much more worried seeing you looking
so upset...

Aoto:
Saki...

Saki:
The world's in ruins, but I'm sure if we
search together we can find a way to
make it right again!

Saki:
It makes me feel relieved just to
know that you're here.

Aoto:
…..

Aoto:
Tch...imagine me being cheered up
by you.

Aoto:
Right! Let's pick ourselves up
and go search for a way to restore
the world!

Saki:
Okay!

Aoto:
There's a tree growing here.
Must be pretty hardy to grow in a place like this.

Saki:
The World Tree Arphage is the guardian angel
of this world. It won't die without a fight.

Aoto:
Is that right?

Saki:
Yep!
And everyday it'll produce more and more
life energy that'll allow things to grow.

Aoto:
I see...
I guess it's sort of like the root of your
life force, then.

?????:
So this is the place?

Aoto:
Huh? Who are you?

Bookle:
Ah, how rude of me.
I'm Bookle the hymma.

Saki:
Bookle! Hello!

Aoto:
So, uh...'Bookle'...
What are you doing here?

Bookle:
The world is in quite a state,
and I thought we could rebuild from here.

Aoto:
Rebuild!?

Saki:
So the world will go back to the pretty way
it was before, right?

Bookle:
No, I'm afraid we can't go back to the way
things were before. All I can do is create a
new 'book' as a foundation, upon which you
can easily create a new world.

Aoto:
'Book'...?

Bookle:
That's right. A book filled with blank pages.

Bookle:
In time it will be filled with drawings of the
thoughts and feelings of countless people, starting with Saki.
And from those drawings, a 'world' will be born.

Saki:
That sounds like fun!
Please go ahead!

Aoto:
Yeah, please do.

Bookle:
Gladly.

Bookle:
Firstly, I'm going to use a little of the Arphage Tree's
power to create the foundation of the new world.

Bookle:
The foundation will take some time to be completed,
so please chat for a little while.

Bookle:
Please draw a wonderful world between you
when the foundation is completed.

Bookle:
(Hymmnos)

Aoto:
She disappeared...?

(Map)

Aoto:
That's...!
Let's head for the stonehenge!

(You heard the man)

Saki:
Aoto! I triggered a paradigm shift!
It's definitely all thanks to you!

Aoto:
I didn't really do anything.
Really, I ought to apologise for ruining your world.

Saki:
Aoto, let's promise not to talk about
that any more.

Aoto:
...right.
Anyway, aren't you scared of
the paradigm shift?

Saki:
Scared...?
What's there to be scared of?

Aoto:
Well, like... Maybe you don't want me
going deeper into your mind, or you don't
want me learning anything more about you...
Surely you've gotta be thinking something like that?

Saki:
Not at all!
I'm going to show you everything!

Aoto:
Huh...!?

Saki:
Ah, b...but... You don't get
to see me naked!

Aoto:
Hey, I wasn't thinking that!
I really wasn't!

Saki:
Hmph...really?
But...butbut... Maybe
someday...

Aoto:
Wh...!?

Saki:
Anyway, I'd better go now!
I'm looking forward to seeing
you in the next world!

Saki:
Let's draw piles and piles of worlds
together!

(Saki talk matter: 初ダイブ後の感想)

Saki:
A...Aoto...?
Umm...

Aoto:
What's wrong?

Saki:
Umm... Well...um...

Saki:
Was diving with me...okay?

Aoto:
Huh?
Yeah, nothing too out of the ordinary happened.

Saki:
Really!?
You weren't bullied by the Saki you met
in the Cosmosphere or anything, were you...?

Aoto:
I'm fine, nothing like that happened.

Saki:
That's good...
If Cosmosphere Saki does anything bad,
hit her for me, okay?

Saki:
Just clonk her on the head.

Aoto:
N...nah, I'm not sure I could bring myself
to hit her...

Aoto:
Besides, you're a good person.

Aoto:
She'd probably come around if I just
talked to her instead.
So don't worry about me.

Saki:
I'm so...happy you'd say that about me...

Aoto:
To be honest, I'm a bit more worried
about Finnel.

Aoto:
I dread to think what sort of tricks
she has in store for me in her Cosmosphere.

Saki:
S...stop that, Aoto!

Saki:
You can't tell other people about
what happens in a Cosmosphere.

Aoto:;
I can't? Why?

Saki:
For a reyvateil, a Cosmosphere is basically
the inside of her mind.

Saki:
Would you be okay with having everything
that goes on in your mind being seen and talked
about by others?

Aoto:
Ugh...no, I'll pass on that...

Saki:
A Cosmosphere has to be a secret between
the person themselves, and the person
diving.

Aoto:
I see... Diving's a much bigger
deal than I realised.

Saki:
That means my Cosmosphere is a secret
between just the two of us, too!

(Saki talk matter: コスモスフィアレベル1のこと)

Spoiler:  [ Open ]
Saki:
Aoto, did you trigger a paradigm shift in
my Cosmosphere, by any chance?

Aoto:
Y...yeah...
You don't feel weird or anything, do you?

Saki:
No no, just the opposite!

Saki:
I feel somehow closer to you than I have
up until now.

Aoto:
Really?

(I see... So when someone opens their heart
to another person they feel like that...?)

Saki:
I hope it wasn't dangerous, though?

Saki:
I heard there's all sorts of dangerous things
in a person's Cosmosphere, so I was a little
bit worried...

Saki:
You didn't get hurt or anything, did you?

Aoto:
'Did I get hurt'...?

Aoto:
Not unless you count getting slugged by you.

Saki:
Eh!?

Aoto:
Ah, no, it's nothing!
I'm totally fine, so you don't need to worry.

Saki:
T...that's good...
Does that mean you'll keep diving into
me?

Aoto:
Sure! I'll keep going until you tell me to
stop.

Saki:
O...okay!
I look forward to having you inside
me!

(Sorry, this sounds soooooo dirty. But it did in Japanese too. <_< Very much an intentional innuendo, I think)

(Finnel talk matter: サキとのダイブについて)

Finnel:
Did the dive with Saki go okay, Aoto?

Aoto:
Yeah, somehow.
I guess I already knew what to expect after
you.

Finnel:
Saki didn't say anything about...me, did she?

Aoto:
Nah, nothing comes to mind...
Why'd you ask?

Finnel:
Well your first time diving was
with me, right?

Finnel:
You seem to get along really well, so
I thought she might be mad at me for taking
your first time or something...

Aoto:
Is it something worth getting mad over?

Finnel:
H...hmm...
I'm not really sure.

Finnel:
But I think if it were me I'd probably
get kinda upset.

Aoto:
I don't really get it...
Though that's probably 'cause I've lived
my whole life not knowing about diving.

Finnel:
I think it might be because reyvateils
spend a lot of time preparing for the first
time they accept someone as their partner.

Finnel:
I suppose maybe we just expect the
same thing from the partner.

Aoto:
Hmm... That sort of makes sense...I guess...

Finnel:
To be honest, I don't quite understand it yet
myself, even though I brought it up.
Sorry. Can we change the subject?

Finnel:
What's wrong?

Aoto:
Hey, look at the sky over there!

Aoto:
What the hell was that!?

Gengai:
Tch...looks like we were too late...
We gotta get moving!

Aoto:
W...what's going on?

Tatsumi:
They're running away from Fallen Heaven Peak.

Gengai:
Hey, hold your horses!

Man:
Master Gengai!

Gengai:
Sorry I took so long.
How's the city doing?

Man:
Fallen Heaven Peak is done for!
You shouldn't go back! The Clusternian forces
said they'd capture any high ranking figures on sight!

Tatsumi:
Huh!?

Aoto:
Do they need to go that far!?

HikariGojyo:
Where are you going to run to?

Man:
It's useless to run! All that's left for us
is to volunteer to be purified!

Gengai:
What!?

Saki:
Puri...fied...?

Finnel:
What's that supposed to mean?

HikariGojyo:
The one way to escape from the judgement
of Clusternia. It means discarding everything that
you are and becoming a perfect little doll...

Finnel:
Eh!?

Tatsumi:
They use those who have been purified as
slaves.

Saki:
That's...horrible...

Aoto:
What do you mean by 'volunteer'!?
Are you saying you're just going to do bend over and
do what they want!?

Man:
There's nothing else we can do!

Aoto:
…!

Man:
At this rate we're gonna be cleansed
along with the city!

Man:
They said that if we headed for Jouteimon
and willingly offered ourselves up for purification,
our lives would be spared...

Man:
And they promised we could live peacefully in
Revyateilia...

Gengai:
That's bullshit!

Man:
...!

Gengai:
Don't you get it!? They don't even see
us as living things!

Man:
You say that, but you're just as helpless
as us!

Gengai:
What!?

Man:
When they came for us, you couldn't do a damn thing!
Are you really trying to tell us you can ensure our
safety if we stay here!?

Gengai:

Tatsumi:
Hey! Is that the way you talk to someone who has
protected Fallen Heaven Peak countless times!?

Man:
Hmph... You might have a silver tongue, but
it's not going to make any difference now. Fallen
Heaven Peak is finished!

Tatsumi:
Damn it...!
Those creeps are just puu all over!

Gengai:

Aoto:
Gengai...

Rufan:
Aoto.

Gengai:
So this is where you ran off to, huh?

Rufan:
Indeed. I heard a strange commotion
coming from the town and hurried here, but it
seems I was too late.

Aoto:
Tch...they might call it cleansing, but
it's as good as terrorism!

Saki:
Aoto...

Finnel:
Say, don't you think there might still
be people alive somewhere?

HikariGojyo:
Indeed. Some may well have remained
here and not headed for Jouteimon.

Saki:
Let's search for them!

Aoto:
Right!

Tatsumi:
Wait...

Aoto:
Huh?

Tatsumi:
Over there.

Aoto:
W...what the heck are those!?

Gengai:
…!
They have...limit syndrome...

Aoto:
Limit syndrome?

Gengai:
They must've followed our scent
all the way up here... Guess there's nothing
for it but to take 'em out!

Aoto:
Fight...!? But they're not even soldiers! I'm
not gonna go around slaughtering civilians!

Gengai:
You can't hold back. They won't.
They're not...human anymore...

Aoto:
Eh...!?

Gengai:
When a person's mind takes a huge enough shock,
their body begins to behave abnormally, and they
become like that...

Aoto:
So that's what...limit syndrome is...

Tatsumi:
Doesn't look like there's anything else we
can do.

Aoto:
Tch...
Guess I don't have a choice!

(BATTLE)

Aoto:
Huff...pant...

Tatsumi:
So those were people suffering from
limit syndrome. You could barely even call them human...

HikariGojyo:
Indeed. I've heard rare cases of individuals developing
a tolerance to it, but for the most part the symptoms we
just witnessed only get worse as time goes on.

Gengai:
It's not public knowledge either. People who get it
end up like that, and can't really be recognised as
people anymore.

Saki:
That's...so...

Aoto:
It's awful...

Tatsumi:
Anyway, there's no point in hanging around here.

Rufan:
Let's head further in. There might still be survivors.

Aoto:
Yeah...

And it's only the first level. o__O I had initially been leaning toward Saki, but my love of Luca and her mess of insecurity issues, trust issues, and try-to-kill-you-every-other-level issues means that this new development is strangely intriguing to me. Choices!

Finnel has been growing on me unexpectedly as well. It's not her cosmosphere for me (despite my avatar I didn't really like Luca) but her general ドン臭いness is adorable. My opinion of Saki keeps dropping every time she says "meiwaku", too... I'm going to hold out that the third RT might be best, but Finnel may get my extra heart point before then.

By the way, I've started to correct the misinformation in my older blog entries using your translations, so it's sort of a collaborative work now. :3 Thanks again.

Personally I find the meiwaku meiwaku gomen gomen type characters sort of cute, though I can see why they might be annoying to some people. ^^ But yes, I didn't expect to like Finnel nearly as much as I did. I'm curious to see what I think of the third revyateil. I already spoiled myself on who it is, but I've managed to hold off learning too much about her, at least.

And you're very welcome! But there's no reason you have to trust my translations ahead of your own. ^_^ If you don't think I'm right about something, then don't feel obliged to change what you had put down. I'm still learning Japanese myself, and I doubt I'm all that far ahead of you. I'm probably just as prone to mistakes as you are~

Just one little scene for today, as I had piles and piles of Chinese homework to do tonight. x__x Still, I suppose any progress is progress.

And wow, both this and the "Let's Play" blog are awesome and complement each other well. Great work guys :yay:

I'll be following both closely. Lots of spoilers, but I don't mind them so much this way. The game itself will have fewer surprises, but I'm more interested in seeing how the story and characters develop (in detail, from beginning to end) rather than the gameplay

Anyway, I'm looking forwards to future updates. Keep up the good work :-)

Thank you. ^_^ I'm glad it's useful to you. DOZO's guide is way better for someone who's not actually playing the game, as I was translating with the game running right next to me (incidentally, my game timer is like eleven hours already... XD), and didn't think to add any notes clarifying what's going on in any given situation. But if it serves as a good side resource when you want to read a specific conversation or scene mentioned in his guide, I'm happy. ^^

Tonight's translation was a whole bunch of peripheral events, and I didn't actually continue with the game at all. I couldn't resist doing the first level of Saki's Cosmosphere, and Cosmosphere levels are long when you're translating every line of dialogue as it's said. ^_^

Oh, so you made an update? (goes to check the earlier post).

Thanks for describing the update - just updating the earlier post would make it harder for people to keep up to date with this topic :-)

It might help if you put more things in parenthesis to give more context, but thankfully the other blog provides a lot of that missing information :-). By combining the two I can get a lot better idea - not just what people talked about (with occasional quotes), but their complete lines, which is great for getting a better idea of the characters.

One thing you could do is linking to the blog at intervals (each time your transcript reaches that part of the at3 story that the blog entry covers). That way the two can be cross-referenced nicely.

Randomly, I did also start a transcript of the USA version of AT2 (didn't get very far, lol), and even without translating, it can still take a long time to work on  .

@DOZO: If possible, might you also add links to some of the online videos you used for your blog? (apologies if you already have them and I'm somehow missing them). That way readers can get a better idea for some of the scenes you translated. The pictures you have are great, but I'd also like to be able to watch some of the scenes you describe (for instance Aoto swinging to the rescue in an earlier scene). Hopefully the videos themself are short enough to be able to find those parts (without understanding Japanese), otherwise, I'd also request timestamps (perhaps below the images).

The video links are actually in the "AT3 Index" on the sidebar. They are on Nico Nico Douga, so you'll need an account to watch them (try to do this in the early afternoon, they go into 'low quality' mode once people in Japanese timezones start getting home from school and work.) Each one is 15-20 minutes long, but I can start adding timestamps to the image alt tags if that would help you out.

My game timer is around 25 hours due to leaving the PS3 running while I'm writing up my entries, and sometimes taking multiple-hour breaks in the middle of doing that. :<_<:

Unfortunately I see no such thing :augh:
Here's how it looks to me:

edit: Never mind, I'm an idiot. The blog index itself has the video links in the center of the page (just saw that now). I thought you meant that the video links themselves were in the sidebar :^^;:

Thanks for the tip. I'll do the local timezone adjustments :-)

Hm what if you dumped the text on a wiki or something so that more people could chip in and make things progress a little faster and take some of the load away from you.

I can't imagine you've been able to enjoy very much of the game with all this translating on the side.
