The second part of this statement is not necessarily true. It still depends on how much freedom GUST would be given while working on their next projects under TK.

If we're lucky, nothing much would have changed except for the release of those dreaded "social games" and the TK logo being stamped onto boxarts. The games themselves would still be developed by the same people, now with a bigger budget, and would still be enjoyable.

On the opposite spectrum, if we're really doomed, GUST would be completely dissolved into TK, and the only traces left of them would be Rorona getting her boobs expanded into F-cup and doing German suplex on Ryu Hayabusa in Dead or Alive 6. And pole dancing in a transparent bikini after the player has completed some random frustrating slot machine minigame.

Well, still too early to talk about whether this is a Bad End, Sad End or Mad End. Might as well observe first.

You're right to point out that, if GUST is guaranteed a certain degree of freedom, having their back financially covered by a major company could actually be a positive thing. In fact, I don't think they are doomed to be dissolved, but rather worried about the pressure they could receive from TK to exploit their franchises for money-making purposes. I've got no problem with some meaningless Atelier spin-off or cameo, provided this doesn't come at the expense of the quality of the main saga. Time will tell, I guess.

The only thing we know for sure at the moment is that AT was brutally killed off as an unwanted bond to a now rival company. This sucks, no matter what happens to other GUST brands.

By the time I was reading the last part of your post, the entire time my mind was saying was, 'WE ARE SO SCREWED, WE ARE SO SCREWED, WE ARE SO SCREWED" :augh:

My only solace is that they at least finished the trilogy in a way that can be accepted as a "good end". Maybe people responsible for AT can move to namco/bandai or something and we get some more AT from them.
